Matsukawa is one of Tokyo’s most discreet and revered kaiseki restaurants: small, invitation-only, almost hidden, and built around the quiet intensity of the counter. Chef Tadayoshi Matsukawa is known for classical technique, exceptional ingredients, and dishes that appear simple but carry remarkable depth and precision. The restaurant is often described as one of the pinnacles of kaiseki in Tokyo, with extremely difficult reservations and a reputation far beyond its modest exterior.  It is not a place of showmanship, but of concentration, seasonality, and restraint — the essence of Japanese haute cuisine.

This was an excellent meal, certainly one of the best kaiseki experiences in Tokyo, and perhaps in Japan. The flow of dishes was deeply seasonal and beautifully judged: crab, delicate sashimi, clear soup, grilled ayu, carefully prepared vegetables, rich shellfish, rice with small fish, and a succession of quiet, precise plates that showed both luxury and restraint.  What made the evening even more memorable was watching the Taisho work tirelessly at the counter. Lunch at @newyoungcheng

Back in my favourite china town, this time it's the wonderful new young cheng. New Young Cheng is committed to innovative and healthier Cantonese style food. Serving the classics to delicious roasted meats, king scallops and whole lobsters. The menu champions Cantonese dishes. I ordered the appetiser sharing platter, which was excellent, vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay, sesame prawn toast, bbq ribs, sweet crispy seaweed and chicken dumplings.
For mains my favourite Chinese dish, 3 roasted meats with egg fried rice. The crispy pork belly was delicious, great duck and roast pork. Was to full to eat dessert!!! Id 100% recommend this restaurant, its really popular for a reason

For those of you on the hunt for culinary delights in the Atlanta area, @minhwaspirits in Doraville is a gem that deserves a spot in your regular rotation. Nestled just barely outside the Perimeter, this spot offers a unique blend of country charm within the city limits.

A Chicken Sandwich Sensation
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the KFC crispy thigh sandwich. Paired perfectly with house-made pickles and a spicy mayo, this sandwich has claimed its rightful place in my personal "Fab 4" chicken sandwiches list. If you're a fan of a good chicken sandwich, this is an experience you can't miss.

@guyfieri concept has a Dallas location and their chicken is 100% halal. They got so many sauces to choose from and those tenders are pressure fried so you don’t feel sloppy afterwards 😋

sourdough pizzas @yeastside.sg

dough was solid, truffle shrooms ($23) the standout.

“hold the salami” ($23) had a bit too much going on. it was the closest thing to a meat lovers so had to try, but the use of cheddar + blobs of tzatziki didn’t quite work for me.

sides were a miss. crispy wings ($16) + cauli hummus ($16) were wayy too greasy.

overall, good for weekday 🍕 takeout, would go back for the shrooms + try the classic marg + five cheese!
