This Japanese-inspired casual spot is from the same team behind @kadonomise & @sanjusanrestaurant!! 🍣🍱👯‍♀️😍. I’ve been VERY excited for this spot to open up for an affordable option for quick service Asian food!

@cafeyoto offers Japanese-style Udon Noodles, Donburi & Temaki handmade. They have both Dine-in and takeout options for enjoying this tasty NEW HOT SPOT in town. They are open daily 10:30am until 9pm. No reservations, walk-ins only. I would RUN not walk here and check out this amazing place! It’s easy, delicious and all the dishes I had are packed with flavor! My favorite dishes were the ribeye udon, karaage donburi, & the shrimp tempura temaki! Don’t skip the black sesame cake for dessert!

We write in today’s paper (and no paywall this weekend on the entire @sundaytimesireland website and app archive, fill yer boots!): “We cannot think of anywhere better in the city for tourists — and locals — to get to grips with Irish food heritage, served with deference to tradition but elevated all the same, one floor up in one of Dublin’s best dining room locations, overlooking the cricket grounds of Trinity College.“

Are you ready for a wine bar that feels like an adult pillow fort? We are! It’s called @stircrazy.la and it’s located on Melrose a few blocks west of Highland.

“So many small restaurants feel claustrophobic or really cramped. In 500-square-feet, the current owners managed to make a space that just feels really good to the human psyche,” says @latimesfood restaurant critic @bill_addison.

The menu is short & sweet — a dozen or so menu items like celery salad, onion dip with a slice of Ibérico ham, and a German-style sausage served with Japanese-style potato salad.

One of the best things I did last week was stumble upon this Tuesday pop-up from @barbekyu_nola at @palsloungenola .

I hear lots of asks for Filipino food, here’s a good example of the form in drinking food / street food style.

The whole (short) menu served up crunchy lumpia, adobo dirty rice balls and a plate of pork skewers with more adobo dirty rice, which was like the love child of jambalaya and fried rice.

In other Pal’s pop up news, I hear @porkfunkallstars504_ has a Hogs for the Cause fundraiser coming up here, Saturday from 5 PM.

Over the weekend we visited @sammys_fishbox located in City Island to celebrate our father’s 75th birthday! We used to come to this restaurant more often but haven’t been back here in many years. They are known for their large seafood portions and decorative interior. Happy to say things have not changed much over the years.

Our delicious meal including their fried and broiled seafood combos as well as their Chicago ribeye. We wanted to order a paella but did not see it on the menu. 😢
