I had been looking forward to visiting this yakiniku restaurant for a long time, and after competing for a reservation for over two months, I finally made it here. What surprised me the most was that I could fully enjoy the Chateaubriand, the most tender and rare cut of meat, as part of this course. The Tenderloin Sukiyaki, in particular, featured impressively large and thick slices of meat, which left both my friend and me in awe. Less

Although it’s quite difficult to get a reservation on weekends, I miraculously found an available table and decided to go. I ordered the "SATO Brian Direct Course (JPY 19,480)" that conveys the essence of meat directly. With a menu centered around the Chateaubriand rice and the famous Buri Katsu sandwich, it kept the diners engaged throughout the meal while providing just the right amount of satisfaction. This place is a revolutionary force in the meat world, challenging the conventional wisdom that "good meat is all about the fat" by serving delicious red meat. It’s already a hard-to-reserve restaurant, but I definitely want to make another reservation and return. It was a great meal!! Less
I ordered the Straight Course starting at 19:15. It began with beef stew, followed by tongue, outside skirt, lean cuts, strip loin, sukiyaki, and bolognese. The Chateaubriand katsu sandwich was especially tender and delicious! The portion size was quite generous at 330g of meat.

I heard this year marks their 15th anniversary. As soon as we were seated, the course began. ◇SATO Brian Straightforward Course (JPY 19,480) It features a total of 310g of Wagyu beef.- Appetizers (3 types) Beef stew, napa cabbage kimchi, and salad. The beef stew was hearty with chunks of tender meat, and the carrots were cooked until soft, making it delicious and light.- Selected Yakiniku (3 types) Wagyu Premium Tongue, Thick Cut Special Outside Skirt, and Flap Meat. All the meat was grilled by the staff. While you can specify how you want it cooked, I left it to their discretion. The tongue, sourced from Kagoshima, was quite thick but tender and rich in flavor. I enjoyed it with recommended lemon and their original spice. The outside skirt was also from Kagoshima, thick and large—possibly the biggest piece I've ever seen. It had a strong flavor, and I found it tasted better with less sauce. It was grilled to a rare doneness. The flap meat, sourced from Hokkaido, was thinner but still satisfying, with a nice meaty texture.- Palette Cleanser Chilled cucumber.- Wagyu Beef with Sauce You can choose between Miyazaki Strip Loin or Kagoshima Wagyu Red Meat. I opted for the red meat, which turned out to be Knuckle from Kagoshima. Though cut thin, the pieces were large. I was recommended to try it with green onion salt sauce, which was light and delicious.- Palette Cleanser Pickled onions.- Buri Meshi You could choose between white rice or corn rice. The rice portion was light, topped with a thick piece of Chateaubriand. The aroma of garlic butter was quite impactful (laughs). The garlic was from Aomori and was sliced thin without any spiciness, making it easy to eat. The meat was so tender that I could cut it with chopsticks.- Buri Katsu Sandwich This is a course-exclusive item. They used Pond de Mie bread, which was very soft and fluffy—quite unique. The grain mustard paired perfectly. The katsu was thick yet had a great texture, melting in my mouth at the same pace as the bread. I've had various katsu sandwiches at yakiniku restaurants, but SATO Brian's is by far the best. Not just the meat, but the bread and overall composition were outstanding!- Special Tenderloin Sukiyaki The meat is dipped in a sukiyaki-style sauce with onions and served with a raw egg from Itoshima on a small portion of white rice. The Matsusaka beef tenderloin was not thin but had a decent thickness, making it satisfying.- Noodles You can choose between Wagyu Bolognese or cold noodles. I went with the cold noodles. The portion was small, so I finished it easily, and it included cucumbers and chopped kimchi.- Dessert You could choose from three types of ice cream. I chose pistachio. The service was impressively fast, completing the course in just over an hour. There was hardly any time to rest (laughs). The volume was quite impressive. Everything was delicious, and the quality of the meat was remarkable. I wish there were a course with smaller portions available. For women, a half portion would be satisfying, so a girls' party plan with a half course would be greatly appreciated. After the course, the owner, Mr. Sato, came to greet us. I was satisfied not only with the meat but also with the service.★ Site Rating at the Time of Posting 3.96 Less

This time, I made a reservation online in advance and enjoyed the classic SATO Brian Straight Shot Course (7 types of meat). All the meat was grilled right in front of me by the staff to perfection. Moreover, the sauces and spices served with the meat were all delightful… I could eat rice just with those! I found myself enjoying the drinks a bit too much with the delicious meat, but the total cost was around JPY 20,000 per person, which was absolutely worth it for such a satisfying meal. By the end, I was really stuffed! (However, I highly recommend the specialty noodles with Bolognese as a finishing touch!)This is definitely a go-to restaurant for indulging in luxurious meat on special occasions. It was very appealing to have it cooked to perfection by professionals. The initial grilling pace was relatively quick, with dishes coming out one after another, which made it a bit rushed to enjoy them while warm. Given the high quality of the meat and the grilling, I felt it would have been nicer to savor each piece at a more leisurely pace.As we moved into the middle of the meal, the serving speed settled down, allowing us to enjoy the signature rice, katsu sandwich, and tenderloin sukiyaki rice at a more relaxed pace.By this point, I was quite full. For the final dish, we could choose between cold noodles and Wagyu Bolognese, but everyone in the group had to order the same dish. Personally, I was in the mood for the lighter cold noodles, but considering my family still had room, we opted for the Wagyu Bolognese. It was served in a large plate, and we shared it at the table. I missed the chance to ask for smaller portions, so it was quite a challenge to finish it all. The taste was excellent, but I think a smaller serving would have sufficed. For dessert, we could choose from pistachio, black soybean kinako, or white peach sorbet, and I enjoyed finishing with the refreshing white peach sorbet.Personally, I think it would have been ideal to adjust the rice portions in the latter half of the meal. However, the quality of the meat was high, and my family was very satisfied, making it a fitting celebration. It was a great meal! Less

I had wanted to visit for a while, but the timing never seemed right. However, I happened to find an open seat and decided to go on a whim.Wow, just as the rumors said, the meat is grilled for you, so the cooking is perfect. I heard there’s a grilling certification process, and only three people in Asagaya have it.Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices of the wine.

I have not felt so full in my life ever. There was an excessive amount of food... probably a bad idea since it was coupled with no wine that day... the quality of the wagyu from Kyushu is high, but purely based on quantity, I couldn't quite appreciate it.
