I visited for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The waiting area is lavishly designed as an art space with a white theme, creating a special atmosphere for the day. The dining area is also a serene white space that builds excitement for the wonderful time I’m about to spend with the food. The dishes emphasize the natural flavors of the ingredients. The subtly paired wines are elegant and delightful. The uni, conger eel, sweetfish, and red snapper sourced from a specialty fish market were all delicious.... More

I visited Reminiscence in Nagoya, located in the Kurumamichi area. This is one of my favorite French restaurants that I have visited multiple times. The owner-chef is Masaki Kuzuhara, who honed his skills at "Kantensance" in Tokyo and "HAJIME" in Osaka before opening Reminiscence in Nagoya. The restaurant has received high acclaim, earning two stars in the "Michelin Guide Aichi, Gifu, Mie 2019 Special Edition" and currently holds the The Tabelog Award 2026 Silver, making it one of the top restaurants... Course and one drink for JPY 28,500.This restaurant received two stars in the latest 2019 Michelin Guide for the region. There is only one type of course available, with no variations.Located in a residential area, it is a perfect grand maison, with an interior reminiscent of an art museum. The staff is numerous, attentive, and professional. The menu features ingredients like eel, Nagoya Cochin chicken, and sweetfish, incorporating local delicacies that tourists would want to try, and everything is... The restaurant is just a short walk from the Caruto Station on the subway.I arrived five minutes early and took my seat. The interior is pristine white, which is lovely. It’s French cuisine.I chose a non-alcoholic sparkling red wine, and it was delicious. The baguette comes in three varieties to match the menu. This item was crafted by a bakery called Tranquil Blue, based on the concept I provided.◯ AftertasteThe dish features Rishiri sea urchin, a signature of Reminiscence, served with lily bulb... In the quiet residential area of Tsutsui-cho, Higashi-ku, Nagoya, lies a truly enchanting and chic space...I have admired "Reminiscence" since I started writing Tabelog reviews 11 years ago, even before it moved to its current location. Time flies, and it’s hard to believe that 11 years have passed. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to finally visit this place in such a way. Now, let’s indulge in a blissful lunch as we savor the slow passage of time. ✮ Chapter One... More

It had been a while since my last visit. If someone asks me, "Where do you want to go?" I always say this restaurant because I love it so much. This was my first time visiting for lunch, and I was just as satisfied as I am during dinner. The pairing of three drinks for just under JPY 10,000 was perfect. I was also delighted to be able to choose from four desserts. I will definitely come back whenever I have the chance!

I visited Reminiscence, a place I had been curious about for a while.Given its high ratings, I had quite a bit of expectation when I arrived. The culinary skills were impressive, and it was clear that quality ingredients were used. I found the fish dishes particularly intriguing. The way the conger eel was cooked to a rare finish left a strong impression, and the specialty dish of eel paired with blue cheese in a fritter was a fascinating combination, allowing me to appreciate the meaning of enjoying... I was extremely satisfied with the dishes that made the most of local and meaningful ingredients. The wine pairings and service were also excellent. Personally, I was impressed by how the final dessert was a creative reinterpretation of a nostalgic Japanese snack, making it a fitting conclusion to the course.

Behind the door lies a quiet and sophisticated space dominated by white tones.Soft light pours in through large windows, illuminating chairs that exude warmth from wood and elegantly set tables. Should I start my training over again? To get straight to the point, the food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch, but unfortunately, there was an issue on the receiving end.At a restaurant of this caliber, it seems that customers also need a certain level of education and experience, which I lacked. Now, let’s move on to the menu descriptions.First, the appetizer: Uni Chips. This dish combines sea urchin and seaweed salt chips, leaving a deep aftertaste.Next, we had steamed conger eel... More

I had an important meeting and used a private room for the occasion. The restaurant's exterior was stunning, and upon entering, I was transported to a different world that felt far removed from the residential area outside. The atmosphere was sophisticated and clean, dominated by white tones. The attention to detail in the dishes was remarkable, and the plates were adorable as well. When the desserts arrived, I saw names like "Kinoko no Yama" and "Pie no Mi," which made me think of store-bought snacks.... More

Enjoy French cuisine in a sophisticated white space. This restaurant has earned two Michelin stars. The dishes featuring eggs, the sea bream wrapped in pastry, the duck from Ehime, and the salad were particularly delicious and memorable. The tea sweets included many treats resembling familiar snacks, making the selection process enjoyable. With a high level of satisfaction, this is a must-visit gem worth dining at when in Nagoya.

This was my first visit! It's a highly-rated restaurant on Tabelog. The atmosphere exudes luxury, the attention to detail in the dishes is impressive, and the staff's service feels top-notch. I also found the homage to the final dessert quite interesting. Personally, I would have appreciated a bit more volume in the course.

This was a restaurant I had wanted to visit for a long time. It was unfortunate that I couldn't drink alcohol due to an upset stomach, but every dish was incredibly delicious. Although it's French cuisine, there were many dishes with a Japanese twist, and some were even meant to be eaten with chopsticks. The final tea sweets showcased the chef's playful creativity, adding a delightful entertainment aspect to the experience.

I visited again after a long time. The interior remains beautifully white and charming. The menu has been refined while staying true to its original direction.I felt that the sweetfish could have used a little more creativity, but overall, including the pairings, everything was well put together, and I had a delightful time.I will definitely come back again. It was a great meal.

I visited with high expectations for a two-star experience, but frankly, it fell short. The food was delicious, featuring wonderful ingredients, including local specialties. However, at this price point (approximately JPY 85,000 for two), I believe that "delicious" is the bare minimum one should expect from a fine dining restaurant. What I was hoping for was a unique perspective and philosophy from this chef, a respect for the ingredients, and a story conveyed through the dishes. This was my first visit to Reminiscence. I would say it leans more towards creative French cuisine rather than traditional French. Each course had a theme, and every dish was aligned with that theme, using local ingredients.
