I was able to see the plating process right in front of me, and they handled the intricate tasks with great efficiency. The cuisine falls under modern French, utilizing local ingredients. The sauces were subtle in flavor and quantity, allowing the natural deliciousness of the ingredients to shine through.Every dish was impressive, but the standout was the appetizer featuring lightly seasoned spear squid and sea bream, along with the delicately grilled sweetfish that had a fluffy texture. The fish main dish, with its firm texture, and the pumpkin and rosemary focaccia were also delightful.I was surprised to see that all the kitchen staff appeared to be Japanese, yet they communicated in French. The service was casual yet attentive, creating a comfortable dining experience.Overall, I believe this restaurant offers great value for the quality of food. Every visit leaves me deeply impressed by the overwhelming quality, making it a special place I want to return to time and again. This is not just a space to enjoy a meal; it’s a sublime environment that surprises with each dish, beautifully and dynamically refining even one’s way of life.Crafted by Chef Hiroki Yoshitake, who earned a Michelin star in Paris, this is one of Fukuoka's top innovative French restaurants.Located on the second floor of Bayside Place Hakata C Building, it offers stunning views of the beautiful sea and nightscape of Hakata Port through large windows and a terrace, making it the perfect location for special occasions or dates. The dishes presented before you are the crystallization of the chef's creativity and ingenuity. So intricate that it leaves you speechless, every process reflects an uncompromising dedication, with each bite delivering a vivid harmony and exquisite flavors. Not only is the cuisine outstanding, but the "first-class service" provided by the staff adds a remarkable touch to the atmosphere.Surrounded by thoughtful attention and refined hospitality, I savor my favorite drink. This becomes an unwavering motivation to face tomorrow. With a dramatic sense of openness overlooking the sea and impeccable first-class service without a hint of flaw, both my stomach and heart were perfectly filled with the culinary miracles gathered from the top of Fukuoka! I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of an acquaintance. The spacious interior and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. Starting with an amuse-bouche, I enjoyed four appetizers, a fish dish, a meat dish, and two desserts. I was worried I might not be able to finish it all, but the flavors were pleasantly mild, allowing me to enjoy every bite without feeling overwhelmed. Now I understand why this place is so popular. It was a great meal!

Coupled with the seaside location, it’s a great choice for anniversaries or dates. The selection of wines was especially impressive, and I ended up drinking a bit too much. The birthday plate and music box presentation were lovely as well! ◎ Less
During my trip to Fukuoka, I visited this restaurant. The plates had a cute design resembling a world map, which was lovely! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very charming, and since it’s located by the harbor, the night view after our meal was also beautiful. All the dishes were delicious, but the most memorable was the smoky salmon. It was served in a closed box, which added an element of mystery that I found intriguing.
As a perfect conclusion to my Golden Week trip, I had lunch at my favorite French restaurant in Fukuoka, Restaurant Sola. The spacious and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant, along with the exceptional service from the staff, remained outstanding as always. Each dish was a masterpiece made with seasonal ingredients. This is definitely a place I want to visit again.
I had high expectations for this place due to its great reviews, so I made a reservation with my partner. This time, we ordered the lunch course. From the moment we tasted the appetizers, we knew we were in for a treat. The seasoning was excellent. There were no misses throughout the meal. Every dish was consistently good, allowing us to enjoy our meal with confidence. Fukuoka City Restaurant Sola May 2026 This trip to Fukuoka is all about relaxing and enjoying delicious food after a long week. The theme is to soak in hot springs and indulge in great meals. I decided to visit Sola, located at Hakata Port, after my friend's daughter recommended it. Lunch was JPY 9000 plus a 10% service charge. ⚪︎ Amuse-bouche - Crispy stick with avocado paste The ikura bursts in your mouth—delicious! This is the restaurant's specialty. - Surf clam and onion The surf clam has a firm texture and rich flavor. - Fennel and tomato tart - Snap pea soup with Italian cheese - Sea bream, squid, eggplant with a hint of sansho pepper - Smoked salmon It arrives in a box. When you open the box, smoke billows out. The salmon and popping caviar burst with flavor in your mouth. ⚪︎ Pumpkin focaccia with ricotta cheese The homemade ricotta is warm and fluffy. ⚪︎ Red shrimp, spear squid, and rockfish Served with saffron jelly. ⚪︎ Grilled tuna with new onion mousse The mousse is sweet, topped with pickled new onions, coriander, dill, and amaranth. The tuna is marinated and flavorful. ⚪︎ Grilled octopus and squid with vegetables Featuring locally sourced octopus from Oita and firefly squid, grilled asparagus, basil, fried garlic chives, grilled shishito peppers, and green tomatoes. ⚪︎ Wagyu steak I was expecting duck or pork for the main dish, but it was beef! ✨ Served with homemade mustard and salt—so delicious! - Parsnip (not a carrot, but a member of the celery family) It also includes Inka no Mezame (a type of potato) in a gratin-like dish, enhancing the sweetness of the Inka no Mezame. ⚪︎ Dessert A coconut meringue filled with Amaou strawberry crème brûlée, drizzled with lime and strawberry sauce. Although it was a course meal, coffee and tea were extra. When I was settling the bill, they offered a refill on the tea, but I wish they had explained that from the start. The drinks I ordered took a while to arrive as well. ⚪︎ Petit fours Matcha dacquoise. I ate so much and finished everything! Each ingredient's flavor was highlighted and delicious. I felt motivated to work hard so I can come back and enjoy this again! ✨ #FukuokaCity #sola_restaurant_ #FukuokaLunch #HakataPort Less
I visited for lunch with a group of five and opted for the JPY 10,000 course, which had generous portions. Each dish was beautifully presented and visually appealing. The seafood dishes were particularly delicious, featuring light and refreshing flavors reminiscent of spring and summer. I heard that the dinner menu includes about three additional dishes.
