Food is not just about serving a dish; it requires a story and the chef's passion to truly evoke emotions. Finally, I had the opportunity to experience a meal at Kusajiki Nakahigashi. What makes it remarkable is being able to enjoy the food while listening to the chef's thoughts on his creations. Each ingredient was infused with flavor, and every combination was a source of inspiration. This time, with the Gion Matsuri festival coming to an end and the old calendar Tanabata approaching, all the dishes were themed around these events. I can't help but wonder what seasonal delights await in the future. The heshiko presented like a fan, the eggplant resembling a mountain, the matured sushi shaped like a tanzaku, and even mint in the kuzu? Huntsman cheese is originally from England and combines Double Gloucester (similar to a cheddar) with Stilton (blue cheese) @clawsonfarms

These thick-cut fries are traditional Scottish chips, however, should be crispy on the outside. These resembled more to a baked potato.

The best way to dine at @labocasteaks is family-style, sharing everything.

Everyone wants the provoletta, a skillet of molten, seasoned provolone, but splitting this filling first course is a must, and that opens room for more starters, namely the empanadas to dab with chimichurri.

The Argentine steak cuts are different from American standards, and La Boca will make a platter of several so everyone can alternate between slices with their different textures and expressions of beefiness (that’s bife La Boca pictured with the avocado).

In August, La Boca makes a package deal from all this, with sides and dessert, for $55 per person.

The reason? Coolinary, the citywide summer dining program.

I’ve been wanting to try Chef @dibartolo’s cooking for a long time, so I was really happy to finally make it to @ernestosnyc.

With the launch of their new brunch service, I finally had the chance to make it in.

Ernesto’s draws inspiration from the Basque region of Spain, with a menu that’s centered around seasonal ingredients and simple, honest cooking. It’s the kind of food that doesn’t need a lot of fuss because the ingredients and technique speak for themselves.

Safe to say this won’t be my last visit. Dinner is definitely next, and @bartolonyc is officially on my list too.

7th Street Burger is officially open in Philly 🍔🔥

The viral smashburger spot opened its first Philadelphia location TODAY in Fishtown, and obviously I had to go check it out on day one.

Known for its simple menu of smashed beef patties, melted American cheese, grilled onions and house sauce, @7thstreetburger has built a huge following, and now Philly finally has a location of its own.

I went with the classic cheeseburger, fries and their signature sauce for the full first-day experience.
