There, hiding in a generous multi-course menu, is a cheeky soufflé. What could that be? Well, here’s a photo of one such soufflé on the menu of Julie’s, that hidden gem of London’s Holland Park. And they’re coming to Sitwell Supper Club on Friday May 16.

Jeg hadde visst booket bord på første åpningsdag! Noe jeg pleier å unngå for å forhindre en dårlig opplevelse! Det ble i utgangspunktet ikke mye forsinkelse den dagen! Men jeg husker at jeg diskuterte med følget om at vi ikke var mette, da de sa at vi var ferdige med menyen. Og jeg ser jo nå i etterkant at vi manglet en del retter. Jeg tror vi manglet fire retter fra set menyen. Eieren gikk rundt og hilste på alle, og jeg hadde en rask prat med han. Han kunne fortelle at de er helt nye i bransjen, og at dette er den første restauranten. Så… de er unnskyldt😅❤️

Maten var vakkert presentert i forhold til andre mezze restauranter. Det var mye eleganse og små fine-dining-elementer som egenutviklet “caviar”, ekte blomster og hummus dandert i små dråper. Fattoush salaten var enkel! Med agurk, salat med sprø og løvtynne biter av pita. Jeg digget auberginesalaten, den var glatt og myk, med nydelig røyksmak! En annen favoritt var blekksprut og calamari, vi skulle så gjerne fått mer av det! Begge var mør i konsistensen og hadde god smak. Neste gang skal jeg prøve “mezze by the land” med fokus på kjøtt!

When we reviewed this restaurant in September 2023 for the ST it took us about two hours to get there from Drogheda. It was in an awkward area for us to make our way to, but knew we wanted to cover it as it felt important and special. Now, fast forward 18 months and this neighbourhood restaurant is now kiiinda in our neighbourhood (okay, 15 minutes drive might be a stretch) but how lucky anyone is to have @barry_sun_ & @darrendarcy78 and team on their doorstep

What more excuse do you need for a midweek table (Wed & Thurs weekly, 5pm-6:45pm) when these are the kind of dishes on offer? Stunningly prepared dinky oysters, nutty sourdough with wild garlic pesto, a spectacularly elegant take on tomato soup with a sliver of anchovy and lettuce on top with focaccia croutons, the most tender, succulent and lavishly glazed beef short ribs… and that wine list by the glass line-up? Epic. The best €38 we have both spent in a LONG time

Been seeing this bakery all over Instagram, and I’m glad I made the drive to visit. This family-owned bakery and cafe offers everything from buttery, flaky croissants made with real French butter to delicious pastries (not too sweet!), fresh bread, sandwiches, and gluten-free treats like the Pistachio Queen Cake and Chocolate Brownie (both amazing). Everything is made in-house daily. They also serve traditional Turkish coffee, baklava, and the viral Dubai chocolate. Don’t miss it!
