@tinsnyc is a place you should add to your list this weekend. Or any day for that matter.

I had the chance to meet owners Mercury and Philip, and they’re two of the nicest people you’ll come across. You can tell how much love and care they’ve poured into this place. What started as a way to bring Mercury’s favorite Shanghainese comfort food to New York has grown into a place that feels incredibly personal.

Even the name, Tin’s, stands for “Things I Need,” a reminder of the people, food, and moments that matter most.

One quick note. They’re still waiting for the city to turn on their gas, so the sheng jian bao and a few other hot dishes aren’t available just yet.

That said, don’t let that stop you from going. Stop in for a drink, some cold bites, and show them a little love. I have a feeling Tin’s is going to become a neighborhood favorite, so now’s the time to check it out before it’s a lot harder to get a seat. Swipe through for a look inside!

📍 @orejano_restaurant is only been open for a little over a year but with over 300 5 star reviews, it was clear they’re doing something right 👏 and it’s asado night!

For $35 you get to pick a nice portion of picana or skirt steak, a side of rice and a salad 🫶

It had been a while since my last visit to Raa Menya Shima. I tried to make a reservation for a table at 8 AM and successfully secured a lunch reservation. As I waited outside at the designated time, the owner guided me to the ticket vending machine.Unfortunately, the grape pepper and tsukemen I was aiming for were completely sold out.What I ordered was:- Special Shiro Shoyu: JPY 2,050I was informed that they do not offer a smaller portion of noodles.The noodles were slightly thin and paired well with the rich broth. The chashu (braised pork) was delicious, with three different types, and the egg was also tasty.Next time, I’ll try to come earlier. It was a great meal! Less

名古屋・今池の駅前、人の往来が絶えず、生活と娯楽が交差するこの街で、地元の人々に80年以上愛され続けている『中屋パン』。店先に掲げられた「おいしさ一番」という言葉が、そのままこの店のスタンスを物語る。特別な演出や主張ではなく、日常の中で繰り返し選ばれること。その積み重ねこそが、この店の輪郭を形作っている。

ラインナップは、王道のパンや惣菜パンが中心。揚げ物、ソーセージ系、甘味系と、誰もが一度は手に取ったことのある顔ぶれが並ぶ。技法自体はオーソドックスだが、油の使い方や具材のボリュームに意識が向けられており、特に揚げ物は軽さよりも満足感を重視した設計。

中でも一番人気の「あんドーナツ」。表面の砂糖のざらつき、しっとりとした生地、粒感を残した餡子というシンプルな構成。揚げた油のコクと甘さがしっかりと乗る、食べ応えのある仕上がりで、この店の日常使いを支える一品だ。

「あらびきフランク」は、ふんわりとしたパンに対して、パリッと弾けるソーセージのコントラストが明快。肉汁の広がりが、シンプルな構成に確かな満足感を与える。「ビーフカレーパン」は中辛設定で、牛肉、玉ねぎ、人参、じゃがいもがゴロっと入り、具材の存在感が際立つ。揚げた衣の香ばしさと、どこか家庭的なカレーの味わいが重なり、安心して食べ進められる仕上がりだ。

長年この場所で積み重ねられてきた街の味が、しっかりと息づく。流行や独自性を強く打ち出すのではなく、日々の中で自然に選ばれることを前提にした味づくり。その背景には、この街で必要とされ続けてきた理由が確かにある。店先に掲げられた「おいしさ一番」という言葉に偽りはなく、その価値は日常の中でこそ実感できる。ご馳走様でした。

Bún chả cá: fish cake noodle soup. Every corner has one. Locals argue about who is right.

The fish cakes are made in-house , the broth leans slightly sweet from vegetables.

Breakfast food here. I’d take it over most dinners.
