🏀🍻 If you’re looking for a spot to watch the game, hang with friends, and eat really well… this is it! & Their weekday happy hour is one of the best!
Here’s what we ordered 👇
We kicked things off with the Shoyu Chicken Wings — an absolute must for the table. So flavorful and perfectly crispy.
Also loved the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (always a good call).
My personal favorite: Dad’s Famous Char Siu Banh Mi — slow roasted char siu pork, pickled veggies, cilantro, mayo & jalapeño on a crispy baguette with fries. SO good.
The Shrimp Po’ Boy was another standout — creamy basil sauce, spicy aioli, lettuce & tomatoes with tots on the side.
We also tried the Pesto Pasta (basil, pine nuts, parmesan, linguine) and added salmon on top… highly recommend that move.
And of course we had to end on a sweet note:

People warned me about Lung Yai before I went…

“No reservations.”
“Always packed.”

They weren’t lying.

I showed up on a random Wednesday… and still waited 40 minutes outside.

But the second I got my food, it made sense.

This place is chaotic — but the flavors are bold, addictive, and dangerously easy to over-order.

Some dishes were 🔥 (pad thai, khao soi, crispy mushrooms).
Some were just okay.
And one? Complete miss.

Mitt aller første møte med ramen var da @hrimnir_ramen hadde en pop up på Håndverk botaniske i 2018😱 8 år siden! Jeg glemmer det ikke! Det var en smaksbombe! Tantan mazemen med marinert sopp og syltet jordskokk, i en kremet og sterk hasselnøttsaus😍 I got hooked! Jeg ser at den fortsatt er på menyen, med noen få forandringer! Den må dere bare prøve!

Ettersom det var grått og trist vær i går, gikk jeg for kraftbasert ramen🍜 Kraften her er ren, delikat og fyldig, med sofistikert skum på toppen. Skikkelig finesse, om man kan si det om ramen? Kjøttet var falle-fra-hverandre mørt med stekeskorpe, tilbehøret var sprøtt og frisk, og bidro til å balansere ut det fete. Min favoritt var den med svin! Dra hit om du vil spise elegant ramen med nordisk touch🤌🏽

STARLESS

@knifespoonorlando at the Ritz-Carlton was once the standard. When Michelin first touched Florida, they got their star and honestly, before that even happened, I already felt they deserved it. At one point, hands down my favorite steakhouse in Orlando. No debate.

Then they lost the star… and I didn’t get it.

I came back to find out why… and now I do.

On paper, this menu is elite. The ideas, the combinations, the cocktails… everything reads like a Michelin experience. But somewhere between concept and execution, there’s a disconnect. The plates look beautiful. The intention is there. But the flavor doesn’t always follow through.

Let’s be clear, this wasn’t a bad meal. But at this level, “not bad” is a problem.

The highlights? Surprisingly, the sides stole the show.
The crab fried rice was so good we ordered one to go.
The kimchi creamed spinach might’ve been the best thing on the table… no exaggeration.

The crudo and scallops were technically solid… just missing some S & P.

The 2 pastas: EPIC FAIL

The Akaushi bone-in ribeye, over $200 felt underwhelming. I’ve had it here before and it was unforgettable, the fat literally tasted like popcorn. This time? No “wow.” No magic. That signature richness just wasn’t there.

The supposed showstopper, tuna & foie missed completely. Tuna was on point, but the foie? Hard, off, and honestly disappointing… especially for someone who loves foie.

Cocktails? This one hurt. The menu reads like a dream for a cocktail guy like me… but out of six drinks, only one delivered: Temperance in Tea Pot. Layered, funky, beautifully presented. The rest didn’t live up to their own description.

Desserts followed the same pattern… great ideas, great visuals… but not memorable.
Except for the soufflé. That one hit spot on!

And that’s the story here.

Knife & Spoon feels like a Monet painting—impressive from a distance, but when you get close, the details don’t hold up the way you expect.

Now I understand the star being taken away.

The talent is there. The vision is there. But at this level, execution is everything and right now, it’s just not fully connecting.

“Everyone talks about how their seafood is fresh and you usually have to trust them; well, here you just have to take a look,” Alvin Williby Jr. told me.

Indeed - just look.

@willibyscatfish has its own indoor catfish pond, sourced from its own farm in Mississippi.

A cinderblock tank roughly the size of a plunge pool just past the register. Its clear surface roils with circulating water and the splashing of hundreds of live catfish.

These are butchered and cleaned in plain view.

Some customers take the fish home to cook themselves. Most leave the cooking to Williby’s, and results are extraordinary.

How does it get here? How do they manage it all? Why does it taste so good and when can I get that crawfish etouffee again?

Finally made it to Di An Phở, and it absolutely lived up to the hype 🍜

The phở is everything. A deep, rich broth that’s been simmered for over 18 hours, tender slices of beef or chicken, and perfectly soft noodles that soak up all that flavor. It all comes together in a really fresh, balanced way.

The spring rolls were really clean with a nice crunch, and every drink we tried was refreshing and the whipped toppings so smooth and creamy, it made the whole meal even better. We left already planning our next visit.
