@villamamaslondon - a Bahraini spot in south Ken has just relaunched its brunch menu for the perfect, lazy summer’s day 🍃

In a leafy, relaxed indoor-outdoor setting we dug into a varied brunch menu that we loved , including:
- Sourdough Zataar Naan (fresh from the tandoor) topped with fragrant wild thyme, sesame and olive oil
- Bahraini Shakshuka deepens a familiar classic with layers of Khaleeji spice.
- Avocado bloom - creamy smashed avocado, pistachios, berries and crumbled feta
- Hummus with pine nuts and a dusting of sumac

Definitely one to drop by if you’re in the South Ken or Sloane Square area and are looking for something new!

Our next stop on my tour, and a restaurant that will of course feature again on next year’s best of Spain tour was to @theworlds50best number 1 (2024), Disfrutar.
The name says it all — “to enjoy.” And enjoy we did. From the moment you step inside, @disfrutarbcn Disfrutar flips every expectation on its head: playful, provocative, and precise to the millimetre.
Behind it all? Three El Bulli alumni who have created one of the most incredible dining experiences on the planet. I have lost count of the number of times that I’ve visited Disfrutar, but each time I go they somehow manage to still surprise and delight me. I feel very lucky to be able to share this restaurant with my tour guests. Truly a highlight of the tour, and a must visit restaurant for any serious dining enthusiast

Some of you may have heard my rants about the shrooms at this place, but here it is again. Out of the 4 or 5 "ingredient highlights" in a given year, matsutake is perhaps the most uninteresting for me... alongside white truffles.. a lot of restaurants feel the need to serve it because it's kind of cool, but at most places, I enjoy it as much as I do a normal shroom. The good thing is that this place has figured out how to cook them properly, preserving the aromas while still making them tasty as hell. Multiple dishes utilise the magic mushrooms and in the end, we usually finish with some kind of game meats.. resulting in a perfect balance. Fair enough, it is expensive as f and its freaking far, but with the selection of the product bar none, coming from local sources not far from the restaurant, execution is on point and it leaves nothing else left to the imagination. Singularity.
