No restaurant could live up to the crazy level of hype that @impala.soho has received but the food was very good and would definitely return. The menu is quite big and would be interesting to see if they could reach greater heights if it was stripped down with more focus on fewer dishes. 🐶 Yamu หนึ่งในร้าน Casual Dining ที่เขียนรีวิวยากที่สุดของปี ไม่ใช่เพราะไม่มีอะไรจะเล่า แต่เพราะเลือกไม่ถูกจริงๆว่าจะยกเมนูไหนขึ้นมาเป็นเมนูโปรด เพราะทุกจานที่ได้ลองวันนี้อร่อยหมดแบบไม่มีข้อยกเว้น !!

เชฟ @mirco_keller เล่าให้ฟังว่านี่คืออาหารที่เค้าอยากทำจริงๆและหลังจากได้ชิมก็สัมผัสได้เลยว่าเชฟมีความสุขกับร้านนี้มาก ความตั้งใจนั้นถูกส่งต่อออกมาผ่านทุกจาน ทั้งรสชาติ ความพอดี และรายละเอียดเล็กๆที่ทำให้แต่ละเมนูลงตัวมาก

อาหารของ Yamu มีกลิ่นอายความเป็นญี่ปุ่นอยู่พอสมควร แต่ยังเป็นรสมือของเชฟที่หลายคนน่าจะคุ้นเคยจาก Keller เพียงแต่ครั้งนี้ทุกอย่างถูกเล่าออกมาในแบบ Casual มากขึ้น กินง่ายขึ้น และรู้สึกว่าเป็นร้านที่แวะมากินได้เรื่อยๆแบบไม่ต้องรอโอกาสพิเศษ

สิ่งที่ทำให้ประทับใจไม่แพ้รสชาติอาหารคือราคา จานส่วนใหญ่อยู่ที่ประมาณ 300–500 บาท ซึ่งสำหรับคุณภาพวัตถุดิบ ฝีมือเชฟ โลเคชั่น และประสบการณ์ที่ได้รับ ส่วนตัวรู้สึกว่าคุ้มค่าเกินราคามากๆ

และนี่น่าจะเป็นไม่กี่ร้านที่ไม่สามารถเลือกเมนูที่ชอบที่สุดได้ เพราะทุกจานในโพสต์นี้คือควรค่าแก่การลองทั้งหมด ไม่มีจานไหนที่รู้สึกว่าเฉยๆเลย ส่วนเมนูที่ยังไม่ได้ลอง เดี๋ยวไว้จะกลับไปเก็บให้ครบ เพราะมั่นใจมากว่าดีไม่แพ้กันแน่นอน ขึ้นอยู่กับว่าแต่ละคนชอบวัตถุดิบอะไร

ใครกำลังมองหาร้าน Casual Dining ดีๆ ซักร้านที่ทั้งอร่อย คุ้มค่า และทำให้อยากกลับไปซ้ำ Yamu คือร้านที่อยากเชียร์ดังๆจากใจ และเป็นร้านที่คิดว่าคู่ควรกับการปักหมุดไว้ที่สุดร้านหนึ่งในตอนนี้ 💙

🇶🇦 Jiwan ร้าน Modern Middle Eastern จากกรุงโดฮา ประเทศกาตาร์ ที่มาเปิด Pop-up ครั้งแรกในกรุงเทพที่ห้องอาหาร ALATi โรงแรม Siam Kempinski Bangkok เพียง 2 สัปดาห์เท่านั้น

คำว่า Jiwan แปลว่า “ไข่มุก“ ซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์สำคัญของกาตาร์ และตัวร้านจริงก็ตั้งอยู่ภายใน National Museum of Qatar ความน่าสนใจของร้านนี้คือการนำอาหารตะวันออกกลางมาตีความใหม่ภายใต้แนวคิดของเชฟ @alainducasse ทำให้แต่ละจานยังคงมีรากของอาหาร Middle Eastern อยู่ครบ แต่ถูกนำเสนอในรูปแบบที่ร่วมสมัยขึ้น กินง่ายขึ้น และเข้าถึงคนที่อาจไม่คุ้นกับอาหารสไตล์นี้ได้ไม่ยาก

ส่วนในครัวนำทีมโดย @julien_guilloret เชฟชาวฝรั่งเศสที่เคยร่วมงานกับ Alain Ducasse มาก่อน เลยไม่แปลกที่ทุกจานจะมีความละเอียดและบาลานซ์รสชาติออกมาได้ดี

หลังจากได้ลองแล้ว ส่วนตัวรู้สึกว่าหลายจานน่าสนใจและกินง่ายกว่าที่คิด ถ้าให้เลือกจานโปรดคงยกให้ Brussels Sprouts with Sumac, Sea Bream และ Coco Beans ที่เสิร์ฟคู่กับเมนคอร์ส ถั่วจานนี้คืออร่อยจนเกือบแย่งซีนเมนหลักไปเลย 😆

ส่วนของหวานอย่าง Jiwan Baklava Kahwa Caramel คือเกินความคาดหมายมาก ปกติไม่ชอบกิน Baklava เลย เพราะส่วนใหญ่จะหวานจัดและค่อนข้างหนัก แต่เวอร์ชั่นนี้ถูกใจมาก ตัวแป้งบางและกรอบ ไม่รู้สึกเลี่ยน ส่วน Kahwa Caramel ก็หอมมาก มีรสขมนิดๆ ช่วยบาลานซ์ความหวานได้พอดี จนกลายเป็นหนึ่งในจานที่ชอบที่สุดของมื้อนี้

สำหรับ Pop-up ครั้งนี้มีให้เลือกทั้ง à la carte และ Sharing Set Menu ใครกำลังมองหาโอกาสลองอาหารตะวันออกกลางในอีกมุมหนึ่ง หรืออยากรู้ว่าการตีความอาหารสไตล์นี้ในแบบ Alain Ducasse จะออกมาเป็นยังไง แนะนำว่าไม่ควรพลาด

The magnificent Russian murals inside remain but the name on the awning has changed. Cafe Lolo is the newest restaurant to occupy this charming space in the Loveless Bldg on Capitol Hill that was most recently Cook Weaver. The menu is hyper local and seasonal. The food is delightful. Fresh, bright flavors and subtle textures harmonize beautifully on each plate. Service is smart, swift, and congenial. Give it a try. You won't be sorry.
