To Yabusoba Miyamoto,I tried various dishes during my visit.Currently, it seems to be the top-rated soba restaurant on Tabelog, located in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The tempura was freshly fried, with a light and crispy batter. The eggplant tempura, in particular, was extremely juicy, bursting with flavor. The soba had a wonderful aroma, and the dipping sauce was perfectly savory, just to my liking. However, the portion size was surprisingly small. Without the tempura, I could have easily eaten five servings.Photography inside the restaurant is prohibited, so I only have exterior shots. It’s a bit pricey, but I definitely want to go back.It was a great meal! Less
I was short on time, so I just had a Zaru Soba to take home. Photography is not allowed inside, so I don't have any pictures of the interior or the food. The interior resembles a traditional Japanese house, featuring a tatami seating style with tables. The Zaru Soba was simply served with wasabi and green onions. It had a lightness that made it feel like I could eat as much as I wanted, especially if I wasn't worried about dinner.■Details:⚪︎ Zaru Soba (JPY 1,200)■Time Taken: 10 minutes⚪︎... More

This was actually my second visit. I came here about four years ago and thought I wouldn’t return, but a friend who loves soba suggested we go, so I visited again after a long time.I knew that photography inside the restaurant was prohibited, so I only took pictures of the exterior. Both the exterior and interior have a charming atmosphere. Both the exterior and interior have a charming atmosphere. Especially for those coming from central Tokyo, the ambiance alone is likely to raise expectations. My friend wanted to try sobakaki, which requires a reservation to order, so I made sure to book it in advance. Our order included:1. Sobakaki JPY 3,000 (about the size of a fist)2. Zaru Soba JPY 1,2003. Tehiki Soba JPY 1,2004. Tempura JPY 2,500Both of us shared the same initial impression: there was no aroma of soba. The zaru soba, as my soba-loving friend predicted, was pale and seemed to be ni-hachi soba. The tehiki soba was ju-wari, dark, and had a nice chewiness. The soba itself was average.Furthermore, the cost-performance regarding price and portion size was quite poor, with each serving being about 0.4 of a full portion. As mentioned in other reviews, the quantity, price, and taste were all below average. The problem lies with the dipping sauce for the soba, which tasted like a commercial product. The thickness and flavor were slightly different, so I suspect they blended some store-bought sauces. The shrimp and green beans in the tempura were decent, but overall, I truly question why this place has such high ratings on Tabelog. It’s puzzling that there are people who rate it highly. Honestly, my taste was consistent with my first visit, and my soba-loving friend confirmed that.It was a great meal! Less
I was in Shizuoka for work and wanted to find a nearby place for lunch, so I searched for highly-rated soba restaurants and decided to visit this one.I entered at 1 PM and ordered the Tempura Zaru Soba (JPY 3,200).I had read reviews mentioning that the portion size was small, and I can confirm that it is indeed on the smaller side. The warm dipping sauce, the firm soba noodles, and the tempura with plenty of shrimp were all delicious. I also ordered an extra serving of soba (JPY 1,000), but it still... More

The focus is on savoring the taste and aroma of the soba rather than filling up.The atmosphere of the restaurant resembles an old house near a quiet tea plantation, and photography is prohibited inside.Prices are higher than typical soba restaurants, and if you aim to fill your stomach, it can cost several thousand yen. This restaurant has an excellent reputation, and I was able to get in during the first round by arriving just 10 minutes before opening. The menu was a bit confusing at first, but the staff kindly explained everything when I asked. As mentioned in other reviews, the portion sizes are quite small.I ordered the hand-pulled soba with zaru and a refill, and I found the hand-pulled version to be more delicious!
