A meal here is always a pleasurable affair, and Chef Liu Zhen is always creating new dishes to challenge us and pushes the boundaries of what defines Ningbo cuisine.
Tonight we had to have it kosher, so the kitchen did a fantastic job removing any offending ingredient, which is quite a challenge!
Finally got to have the crispy chicken, which has become a signature of the restaurant. The 9-year-old lily bulb is always a highlight, too.

Today is the 15th day of the Lunar New Year (元宵節). We, Chinese, usually have a bowl of sweet dumpling soup (湯圓或元宵) with family or friends to mark the end of the festive celebrations.
As I was on my own in HK, a friend sweetly seated me at a table-for-one in her packed-to-the-brim restaurant. And so I got to indulge in all my favourite dishes; with the sweet dumpling soup as finale.
So grateful and so so touched by her kindness.
Simple lunch at one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in HK. The quality of their ingredients never fail to impress.
Another good meal and the first experience of Ningbo cuisine for Gerhard and Tomo-chan. Most dishes were based on seasonal ingredients, and showcased the amount of care taken by the restaurant to elevate even the most humble ingredients.
