We were kindly invited for a lunch at The Dew Drop Inn recently, and we already cant wait to return! The chef kindly prepared us a few dishes to share and there is not a single thing we didnt enjoy:

Oxtail hash with aoli, fresh break with mackerel pate, the flakyest fish and chips with home made tartar sauce, Cape Malay Lamb Bobotie (a South African curry) and Truffle mac and cheese. For desert we were treated to affogato and sticky toffee pudding!

The curry, mac and cheese and the sticky toffee were particular highlights!!

Sarah, Marius and the team were so friendly and welcoming, and have adopted some local cats and a dog which of course (being cat parents ourselves) we loved! 🌳🌳 Less

These are the most incredible #anticuchos🍢 I’ve ever had (better than what I tried in Peru). And they were even tastier and more sizzling the second time. Can I eat this every day? Probably because it’s only 10 minutes from my house. Get them with the rachi, fat slabs of springy tripe. Nice work @ananauny, you’re the best neighborhood spot I could ever dream of.

I’m not usually into carb-on-carb action, but this was the best most interesting thing I tried at the new @timeoutmarketunionsquare food hall. It’s a Jamaican curry patty sandwiched between a fluffy slice of coco bread.

Other media outlets seemed less impressed by this one. But I dunno, it tasted good to me! The spicy and creamy sauces were so flavorful, and the whole big loaf was steaming hot when it came out. I didn’t finish because it would have become a log in my belly that prevented me from trying all the other stalls. So take this with a grain of salt. But I thought it was nice work, @chefkwamespattypalace.

I need more Nepalese food in my life! When I looked at the menu at @dawasnyc in Sunnyside, Queens, I have to admit that I didn’t recognize most of the dishes on there.

This was my second visit in two weeks, but I had to take Pam because I think the place is sophisticated and so interesting. This dish was called chana gwaramari, and was basically spiced chickpeas with tomato chutney and these incredible fried bread puffs. So, kinda healthy?

I love this spot, can’t wait to try everything on the menu.
