🍴✨ @jangsujang.atl now has a second spot in the heart of Alpharetta City Center, with its original location situated in Duluth's vibrant Asian hub! 🌟 While I haven’t made it to the iconic Gwinnett County location yet, the downtown Alpharetta spot boasts a romantic ambiance and outstanding food! 💕🍽️

From start to finish, the meal was pure magic. 🥢 The kimchi? Perfectly balanced—no salt overload and a spice level that matches my mellow 2025 palate. 👌🔥 Even the macaroni salad was a star, rivaling the best from northern delis and southern BBQ joints. 🥗✨

The dumplings? Oh, so good! 🥟 And the LA galbi stole the show. 🍖 Korean food's sweetness often takes center stage, but here, the honey on the short ribs was a delightful supporting note, letting the tender meat shine. This place is top shelf! 🥳🙌

🌟 Stone House Tap in Milton (Crabapple 📍) got a shot from us this time! Here's the scoop:

🍽️ Food: Decent! A notch above average bar bites. 🌞 Atmosphere: Lovely deck—great for chill days with nice weather. 🍺 Beer Game: 24 taps, and about ¾ are legit craft brews. Pretty solid 🍻✨. 👥 Service: Yikes. They were severely understaffed. We heard almost every table asking about their orders ⌛—one family even commented, “It took much longer than expected.” Getting our check was an ordeal 🧾, but after asking twice, we finally managed.

💡 Early Yelp reviews mentioned confusing ordering; they apparently switched to table service. Unfortunately, it felt more like no service 😅 (Clark Howard reference, anyone?).

Bottom line? Above-average beer list ✅, bar food ✅, and nice deck ✅...but they’ve got work to do.

🔥 Pro Tip: Skip the hassle and head to Smoke on the Farm—just 400 feet away. Better food, better service, and many similar items 💯👌.

For good ole 🇺🇸 #American basics, Chef Todd Hogan’s @branchwatervickery 🥩🌟 absolutely nails it. Special of unicorn fish 🦄🐟 was a standout. Now, my ex-friend Scummy Al—forever dining with coupons 📄💸—claims “every restaurant in Atlanta just serves broccoli and cheese soup 🥦🧀.” 🤦‍♂️ One of the worst takes I’ve ever heard. This homemade version? A once-in-175-to-250-restaurant-menu sighting 👀for those who eat in real restaurants, and light-years better than anything in Scummy’s Entertainment Book 📚💔.

For reasonably priced eats (excluding prime steakhouses 🥩❌), this spot ranks just behind Il Giallo as Mrs. Grub’s fave 🍴💕. Located in charming Vickery Village, Cumming 🌳🍑—a must for Forsyth County foodies!

🍝 My daughter rolls her eyes when I say I can eat at 15 different Italian restaurants and get 15 different main entrees 🙄. But it’s true for most cuisines! 🤷‍♂️ Yeah, I get the whole North Italian, Roman, and many regions thing, but that kinda proves my point.

🐟 Flounder Francese at @carbonaratrattoria was almost NJ-quality flounder! 😋👌 Mrs. Grubber? Not so much about variety. 🤦‍♀️ She thought one piece of her chicken parm was oversalted, but the rest was fine. 🍗🧀

🍨 Dessert time! Bourbon Trail Ice Cream @goodvibesdunwoody from the David Abes Dynasty in #Funwoody. 🥃🍦 Tough to replace my beloved High Road Bourbon Burnt Sugar, but this was very good! 🔥

In all my years as a food snob, not sure I’ve seen a chain generate as much hype as the new @mistero1pizza 🍕 in Sandy Springs, in City Springs, where The General Muir once was. Famed pizza hound @stoolpresidente 🐕‍🦺 gave the original Miami location an 8.9 🥇, which is among his higher-rated places.

I’m not a pizza purist 🍕🚫, so I happily went with non-traditional toppings and chose the ruben 🥪, spelled with only one “e” on the menu. I like good AND unique 👍✨. In addition to the unconventional toppings, Mister 01 has its own style. It’s super thin, not-quite cracker-like 🍴. Wife, of course, got pepperoni 🥓🍕. We both liked! Early on, this chain isn’t top 10 in metro Atlanta 📍🍑, but of course, I need to try them again down the road 🚗.

It’s good enough that we’re VERY happy to see they have a Boynton Beach location 🌴🍽️. That’s where FIL lives, and good food has been a struggle to find there 😅, including some highly-rated Delray Beach ones 🏖️. It’s recommended ✔️, but the new Sandy Springs location didn’t have us doing the cartwheels 🤸 the advanced billing had us hoping for.

📍Been wanting to try the new Turkey Cuban 🥪 at @graciousplentybb, only to discover they also added a "Philly" Cheesesteak 🧀🥩. Why choose? 🤔 I went with both! 😏 Heard a rumor that @springfieldbbqco made the same wise choice moments earlier. 👀🔥

🥩 Cheesesteak: Served on an Amoroso roll with 6 oz of steak. Scroll back on my feed—you’ll see most spots in the Delaware Valley pack twice the meat, but this one is close to Philly authenticity and top quality. 💯 Much like Mike at Atlanta Grubber-approved Vickery Burger 🍔 says he doesn’t serve a Philly cheesesteak, but a Vickery cheesesteak, I’d call this a Canton Street Cheesesteak—and it’s quite good! 🏆

🦃 Turkey Cuban: Served on focaccia, not Cuban bread, but still hits the mark with smoked pork & ham on it as well. 🔥 This is definitely a candidate for Atlanta Grubber’s Best Sandwich list. 🥇

Hal’s & Bask are our top 2 faves, but had to check out @nowakssteak—run by Hal Nowak’s son! 📍Sandy Springs location is super convenient for us, closer than Hal’s. They also have their OG spot in Virginia Highland.

🥣 French Onion Soup of My Dreams? 😍 Server Ian (top shelf btw) says it’s slow-simmered for 92 hours—and I believe it! The broth packs a punch, bold & peppery. If you love strong flavors, this is elite. If you prefer subtle, maybe not your jam.

🥩 Ribeye = Pittsburgh rare perfection. Not quite Hal’s or Bask level, but still very good. Reminds me of a newer Louisville steakhouse we tried last year, owned by a distillery—fewer steak cuts, but lots of entrées. Feels more like a high-end restaurant with prime steak than a pure steakhouse.

🦀 Crab cocktail? Solid. Will happily return, but next time, I’ll explore the entrées. Mrs. Grub agrees—very good steak, but a notch below our top 2. But that French onion soup? Tough to beat. 🔥🔥🔥 Less

🌟🍔🍻 #WeekendAdventures 🌟🍔🍻 Yesterday, we made second trips to two places with Mrs. Grubber’s dream menu: @vickeryburgerbar in Cumming and @moondogpubandgrub in Chamblee. I was a little surprised she chose the latter for the night as she loves her same staple items at both.

📸 All pics from Vickery. Found my favorite Italian beef in metro! 🇮🇹🐮 I’ve had two in Chicago (Mr. Beef and Portillo’s), one in Carbondale, so I know the authentic ones. Only complaint, of course, I’d like more meat. Items FedExed from ChiTown, this is legit. 🚚🌟

🔔 Reminder: My oldest lives in Madison, WI, so I’ve had cheese curds more than 20 times in Wiscky, including the famed The Old Fashioned. The two places we went Saturday are my top two. Vickery has a really good garlic sauce served with it. 🧀🧄

🍽️ Moondog re-affirmed it’s Mrs. Grub’s favorite fried pickles and she is the top expert in the state on such. But she’s also a big fan of the fried pickle spears at Vickery as well. Gurrrl, the headline for me at Moondog last night is their pimento cheese also is probably my tops. 🥒🧀 They are two of her favorite beer pretzels. Good day for regional American grub. 🇺🇸✨
