🍝 Visited @altaviapgh in Pittsburgh’s Market Square—arguably the top rated Italian spot in the Steel City. 🏙️ Mrs. Grubber lit up when she saw chicken parm was their specialty…only to find out they were out. 😩

Would’ve been nice to know before apps! Ordered meatballs and but her Plan B main dish (again were told Plan A was 86d while fishing off the balls) also featured those same meatballs. 🐄🐖🐂 Veal, pork, short rib—they were some of the best I’ve had this year. 👌 Caesar salad? 🥗 Good, with finely ground breadcrumbs. We like it heavily dressed; this one was lightly coated but tasty.

I got the spaghetti with jumbo lump crab. 🦀 Fresh in-house pasta was flavorful but clumped together, and the crab was a bit overcooked.

Lesson learned: post-Steelers game 🏈 might not be the best time to hit a top-rated restaurant in Yinzer territory. Place has potential—quality was there, execution was hit-or-miss. 🤔
