Sister brand to the much-loved “Flower Drum”, “Fat J Char Siu” opened in Wan Chai earlier this year, offering premium Cantonese roast meats in a casual setting with shared seating❤️‍🔥 I arrived at 11:30am for the 12pm opening and was first in line; most people started queuing around 11:45🕛 By the time I finished, there was a long queue around the block, despite it being a weekday lunch👥

I opted for their signature“叉燒雙蘭王蛋飯” (Char Siu & Double Ranou Egg with Rice, HK$88) - honey-glazed chestnut-fed Spanish pork char siu with smoky edges, topped with two sunny-side-up eggs over rice🐖 I also upgraded to pork belly char siu for an additional HK$5🍖 Overall, it was a solid lunch - while I’m not sure I’d queue in this heat again, it’s definitely worth trying once the initial hype settles down🌤️

今年香港の湾仔にオープンした、「Flower Drum（フラワー・ドラム）」の姉妹店「Fat J Char Siu（ファット・ジェー・チャー・シュー）」は、平日のランチタイムでも行列ができる人気店です👫 店内はすべて相席のカジュアルな雰囲気で、看板メニューの「叉燒雙蘭王蛋飯（チャーシュー ソウラン ワンタン ハン）」は、ご飯の上に柔らかい焼豚が4切れと半熟の卵焼きが2つ乗った一皿です🍚 叉焼は栗を食べて育ったスペイン産豚肉を使用し、蜂蜜の風味と燻製の香ばしい焦げ目が特徴的で、追加料金HK$5でバラ肉にアップグレードも可能です🥓
