I really suck at prediction. For example I said that there will be no Brexit and no President Trump. However this time I stumbled across something which turned out to be correct. I was absolutely sure that Jan Hartwig, Head Chef of the Restaurant Atelier in Munich will get 3 stars, so sure that I made a reservation in July for a day which was likely just after the announcement of the German Guide 2018.
The excitement and therefore the potential for disappointment was great, but Mr. Hartwig delivered in spades.
After having learned his craft at Aqua for seven years, he now developed his one distinct style. The dishes are artfully and beautifully crafted, the flavours powerful. It is a classic cuisine at its best. The front office under the watchful guidance of Jochen Benz delivers a professional but friendly service which would be hard to improve. Wonderful. Less
