Regular VisitI was able to enjoy summer ingredients like corn and eel. Unfortunately, I missed out on the junsai due to bad timing. However, I absolutely love Kawada's fig dengaku. I don't know anywhere else where I can have it. I enjoy both the cold and warm versions, whether it's summer or winter.

2026.6.A Beautiful Single FlowerThe wind shifts from the sweltering heat of the day, hinting that summer is still a bit early. I have arrived at "Nihonbashi Ningyocho Kawada," a Japanese restaurant where the owner, Haruji Kawada, has been cooking solo since its opening. Tonight, I will experience the essence of Japan's seasons through his dishes.Sea Bream Broth with Fresh Sea Urchin ♡A summer specialty, the sea bream broth is transformed into a jelly-like consistency and paired with fresh sea urchin.... This was my first visit with a friend. The delicate flavors of Kyoto-style cuisine didn't quite match my preferences. In particular, during the first half of the meal, I struggled to appreciate the flavors of the dishes or the ingredients. It felt like adding salt just made it salty, soy sauce just made it taste like soy sauce, and ginger just tasted like ginger. I found myself wondering what I was actually eating. However, the beef simmered with rice and the curry served at the end were packed with... More

It was classic Japanese cuisine. The location is just a short walk from Ningyocho Station, situated on the basement level at the very back of a row of shops. The dishes highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients, prepared with a pleasant cooking technique that maximized their deliciousness. While there wasn't a sense of special occasion, each dish was truly remarkable.

Tabelog ★3.96 2026 Bronze 【Kawada】 I visited Kawada, located in Ningyocho, which is slightly tucked away in an alley. The exterior is on the basement level of a mixed-use building, and the interior features a single row of eight counter seats. This is one of my regular spots that I visit four times a year, enjoying the seasonal offerings in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. On this day, I had the pleasure of experiencing the renowned Japanese cuisine of Chef Haruji Kawada, who follows... More

The interior exudes a calm Japanese atmosphere, providing a space where you can leisurely enjoy your meal. The counter and private rooms are arranged with just the right amount of distance, allowing you to focus on the dishes in a tranquil setting. The serene ambiance typical of Ningyocho adds to the impression that this place is suitable for special occasions or business dinners. This time, I enjoyed a course meal. Each dish, featuring seasonal ingredients, was served with care, and the overall flow... More
