On a night in May 2026, I enjoyed a sushi dinner at Sugaya in Akabanebashi for the first time in six months. I realized how much I missed that tangy red vinegar rice.I arrived right on time for my reservation and took a seat in front of the chef, greeting him. His attire had changed to a chic black, giving a fresh impression.What surprised me after six months was the change in the rice. Sugaya was known for its sharp red vinegar rice, but it has transformed into a flavorful rice made with rice vinegar.I heard that the chef decided to shift directions after tasting various dishes and learning more. It seems he is not content with the status quo and is always pursuing deliciousness.Since the rice has changed, not only the nigiri but also the appetizers have slightly altered in flavor. Shoyu based soup contains pork thigh meat and locally made niboshi-garei (dried flounder). Medium-thin straight dried noodles, pork chashu, green negi, bean sprouts and menma. Ice creams were house made but disappointing. Skip these and go to the new @icecreamunion immediately next door and get the pistachio, matcha, coconut choc chip, banana split, dulce de leche and hojicha flavours 💁‍♀️

แล้วมื้อนี้ก็ไม่ผิดหวังจริงๆ อิ่มมาก อร่อยมากทุกจาน โดยเฉพาะ แจ่วฮ้อนเนื้อน่องลาย ที่ยังเป็น No.1 ในใจเสมอ น้ำจิ้มไม่ต้องเพราะน้ำซุปนัวเข้มข้น หอมสมุนไพร เนื้อน่องลายนุ่มๆ แบบที่ไม่มีที่ไหนมาโค่นได้จริงๆ 🥹

และที่ไม่พูดถึงไม่ได้เลยคือคือ หลนเค็มบักนัดใส่ไข่ เมนู Michelin Recommended จากร้านหมก รสเค็มหวานนัวๆ กินคู่กับผักสดแล้วเพลินมาก

ส่วนเมนูอื่นๆในมื้อนี้ก็ชอบหมดเลย โดยเฉพาะ ยำดอกขจรปลาดุกฟู, ผัดเผ็ดปูก้อน และแกงไก่บ้านสกด รสจัดจ้านแบบอาหารไทยที่กินแล้วหยุดไม่ได้

ปิดท้ายด้วยของหวาน ไอศกรีมกระยาสารท และแสร้งว่าปากริมไข่เต่าที่ใช้เห็ดตาโล่มาทำแถมยังหวานน้อยถูกใจมาก กินแล้วไม่หนักเลย

เป็นมื้อคอลแลบที่แนะนำมากๆ ใครอยากลอง พรุ่งนี้ยังเหลืออีกวันเดียว! ใครสนใจรีบทักไปจองกันได้เลย ที่นั่งน่าจะเหลือไม่เยอะแล้ว 😍😍😍

@broadstreetbbqatl is part of the new South Downtown development in Atlanta, close by the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena. No butcher paper-lined metal trays here for the thin-sliced brisket, neatly-trimmed ribs, nor the very eye-catching(and delicious) ATL ho cakes (not a typo) — each get their own plate. Meats cooked on reverse flow Langs in the pit cage adjoining the restaurant.

I'm on the record as being a big fan of barbecue in bars, and at Broad Street there’s a clever, follow-your-flavor cocktail tree. My tastes led me to the Brain Tonic, a very Atlanta twist on an old-fashioned with a base of bourbon and Coca-Cola syrup. Also, props for the big bowl of sweet bacon-braised collards — perfect piled atop the hoe cake with a few scraps of brisket and a dose of tangy brown sauce.

I visited Chinese Hanten Fureika, the pinnacle of the Chinese Hanten group, for the first time. The location, appearance, and atmosphere of the restaurant are all outstanding. The clientele is quite upscale, and the interior features numerous private rooms where guests can enjoy delicious dishes in privacy. As for the food, being part of the Chinese Hanten group guarantees quality, and it truly lives up to its reputation as the best. I ordered a course meal, which was elegant and delicate, and surprisingly light for Chinese cuisine. I enjoyed every dish from the appetizers to the main course without missing a beat. I apologize for not being able to share photos as I forgot to take any, but this restaurant undoubtedly offers top-notch Chinese cuisine that perfectly suits Japanese tastes. While the prices are on the higher side, it is definitely a place worth visiting at least once. Less

Summer fruits stole the show at a dinner with friends this weekend. Peach and blueberry salsa with basil and lime dressed up fresh halibut from @kuzmasfishmarket. Credit for the gorgeous plum and raspberry tart goes to @rooty738. There were even grapes in the salad. Thanks Nancy and Stewart for hosting a lovely evening.
