There, hiding in a generous multi-course menu, is a cheeky soufflé. What could that be? Well, here’s a photo of one such soufflé on the menu of Julie’s, that hidden gem of London’s Holland Park. And they’re coming to Sitwell Supper Club on Friday May 16.

Tenth Time’s a Feast

There are restaurants you visit. And then there are the rare few you return to — religiously, ritualistically. Last night was my tenth dinner here. The first with my brother. And once again, this kitchen reminded me: they don’t run out of magic.

The Leeu Estate olives opened like a quiet prelude. Then: oyster with carne asada and grapefruit — a bold, beautiful overture of contrast and silk.

Namibian snow crab, delicate and cool. Then the langoustine salad with caviar (of course we said yes).

Crayfish, peri-peri, ponzu — a fearless plate. Then yellowfin tuna with cardamom and coconut, followed by a nostalgic ‘viskop’ chowder that warmed like memory.

A palate punch: kalamansi and worm salt, sharp, wild, brilliant.

Then the choice: coal-roasted lamb with salsa verde and kapokbos, or Karoo wagyu with truffle (we did both). Unapologetically indulgent.

Cheese followed — smoked Stanford with pear and mustard — and a gentle close with stone fruit, crème fraîche and spelt. Then, as always, the charming Sweets Trolley, rolling in like joy on wheels.

Thank you, Peter Duncan and Culinary Director James Gaag, for another unforgettable journey. And to Head Sommelier Barry Scholfield — your pairings are poetry in a glass.

Ten dinners in, and still I’m hungry for more.

It’s always refreshing going to a proper steakhouse like CUT. There’s something about getting your own steak that just hits differently. No sharing, no pre-slicing, just steak served the classic way where you can dig in as you please. Grilled, charred and served with a selection of elevated CUT sides. This is a refined steak house. Each steak is sprinkled with their own signature dry-blend of seasonings before being grilled to order. There’s always a lovely crust and it’s always cooked to perfection. For the sides, lots of classics: creamed spinach, cavatappi mac & cheese, french beans, potato puree etc etc. Everything you could want from a steakhouse sides’ list. Whilst the steak selection here is vast (beef from England, Japan, Australia, USA and more), some of their starters and desserts are just as solid. The seared Orkney scallops with garlic and chilli butter are a must. Perfectly charred and doused in the most comforting spiced butter. They cut like butter. Nutty and delicious. The tuna tartare cones are also worth throwing in but it’s the Wagyu sliders that you can’t forget. So delicious and well made. Baby Wagyu beef patties, topped with aged cheddar, tomato confit, chopped red onion, pickles and garlic aioli. If you’re not full by the end of this sitting, hit that chocolate soufflé - it’s well worth the wait #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️

Im loving China town at the moment. Since 2011, Real Beijing Food House has embarked on a remarkable culinary journey within the vibrant heart of London’s Chinatown. Our enduring commitment has been to bestow the genuine “Beijing flavour” upon the discerning palates of food enthusiasts.
We loved the menu and loads to choose from. I'd definitely recommend the bbq section. Our grilled chicken wings and pork belly skewers were awesome. We started with a classic prawn wonton soup, with a great depth of flavour. Next, we had some pork soup dumplings with soy sauce. Some crispy prawn toast, classic and delicious. Next, a Chinese hamburger, or Rou Jia Mo, which means 'meat in bun'. My favourite dish of the the day, typhoon fried prawns in their shell, with loads of crispy garlic and chilli. Absolutely delicious. With some plan rice and some fried chicken noodles to finish. Great lunch, the food is excellent. If I needed to find a problem, it would be the restaurant needs a little face lift, but that's it. Go check it out

En el Bar Guerra (San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella), Luismi Menor y César Morales (de La Milla) han resumido estupendamente lo que debe ser una tasca o un bar de tapas malagueño. Muy buenas frituras, platos populares y guisos con fundamento en una terraza bien atendida. Buena oferta de vinos aunque se echa de menos alguna referencia más por copas. Smash burgersted med litt finesse! Interiøret er ikke spesielt lekkert, det er dunkende musikk og neonlys i rosa og lilla toner🤣 Men frykt ikke! Her er det skikkelig burger med fluffy brioche brød, saftig og smakfullt kjøtt med god stekeskorpe. Og småretter dandert nesten litt fancy? Har dere smakt brasiliansk "Coxinha" før? Det er den brasilianske versjonen av kroketter! Denne var fylt med kylling og krydder, og ble servert med syltet rødløk, rømme og tomatsaus - kjempegodt! Se så fint det er lagt opp for å være et bråkete burgersted? Hehe.

De bruker i tillegg mange unike majoneser med blant annet artiksjokk, blekksprut, dill og som gai, som tar maten til et annet nivå. Jeg tok en liten bit av lillebror og storebrors burger, men jeg faller alltid tilbake på å like det klassiske best! Burger med lite fjas! Akkurat som at jeg ofte bestiller det mange syns er "kjedelig" Margherita pizza! Enkelt og godt!
