🔥🍽️ Foodie adventure alert! 🍽️🔥

I hit up the OG @eat.sabarabas—which is a self-standing permanent food truck by my wife’s beloved Il Giallo in #SandySprings. Now, they’ve got a brick-and-mortar spot too in #Chamblee! Unlike the Persian flavors I’ve been crushing lately, this one’s all about Israeli bites 🇮🇱.

🥙 I grabbed the chicken laffa, while my wife went for the schnitzel plate. Fun fact: I got the schnitzel laffa at their original walk-up joint 🍗. Persian vs. Israeli flavors? Persian leans into saffron & cardamom, while Israeli works garlic & coriander—but they definitely overlap with other spices! Even the bread tells the story: Persian is flatter, Israeli fluffier 🍞.

✔️ Sandwich = solid ✅ ✔️ Hummus = okay 🤷 ✔️ Secret menu spam = 🚫 2012 called, they want their gimmicks back.

Despite the unnecessary “sign-up-to-see-the-secret-menu” nonsense, I still recommend them because their food is legit. Good eats, solid flavors, worth a visit despite the outdated stunt of a façade of elitism. I’ll choose inclusiveness all the time.

🐥 The whole duck leg biscuit 🥞🥓, starring prosciutto & orange marmalade, wrapped in one of the best biscuits in town—earns the Run, Don’t Walk distinction! 🚀💨🥚🥓 Wife enjoyed her eggs & pork belly (rebranded as bacon so she could dive in! 😉) with a side biscuit. 🍽️ We approve.

🧀 I got the cheddar grits, and let me tell you, some of the best grits you’ll ever have. No question. 🤤 Healthy eating? ❌ Not today. 🍔 Pro tip from a trusted foodie source: Get the burger! ✔️ Adding it to the list.

🍳 Mostly a breakfast spot, rocking Southern staples like chicken & waffles 🐔🧇 and shrimp & grits 🍤. I already told you—it’s got the coveted “Run, Don’t Walk” from Your Atlanta Grubber—so go! 🚗💨

💺 No frills. Small space. Limited seating. No creature comforts, but it’s got my name on it. 📝

Ooof! These tacos are in Greenpoint, Brooklyn but I’d rank them among the best in AZ and Northern Mexico … There’s so much going on here, eating one is like being punched in the tongue by a tangy chile demon. Nice work, @taqueriaelchato.nyc!

Also, I think it’s time to do a taco tour of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. I’d start here with the tripas and their take on al pastor, then hit up @taqueria_ramirez_ for some Mexico City suadero and onto @essetaco for those mushroom tacos. I’m sure there are other great places but this is just off the top of my head. Seriously I’m digging this idea!

Most people go to Afghan restaurants for the meat, but I head straight to the dumplings. And this new spot, which is a second location of a longtime Astoria restaurant, makes the ultimate dumpling platter.

Not only is there beef mantu, but also a flatter boiled dumpling called aushak. Both are smothered in yogurt and tomato sauces, which make them slippery flavor boats. Oh man they’re so great.
