Most people go to Afghan restaurants for the meat, but I head straight to the dumplings. And this new spot, which is a second location of a longtime Astoria restaurant, makes the ultimate dumpling platter.
Not only is there beef mantu, but also a flatter boiled dumpling called aushak. Both are smothered in yogurt and tomato sauces, which make them slippery flavor boats. Oh man they’re so great.
