A darn good tri tip steak with a fried mashed potato cake, herb salad, and, yes, shredded cheese. (Don't knock it til you try it. Also, use a very good cheese.) From @farout.dallas, one of several bars where Misti Norris is upgrading the food game right now.
Dahi puri chaat and a spiced gimlet at @sanjhrestaurant. I could easily imagine this explosive, all-encompassing bite being the snack at the beginning of a great chef's choice tasting menu, just sayin'. #dallaseats #dallasfood
This fried chickpea patty burger @houseofveganfood is a thing of beauty and I love the avocado for contrast. One of the most filling and satisfying veggie burgers in town. Now I just need to convince somebody to take the chickpea thing one step further and make a full-on falafel burger... #dallaseats #dallasfood #veggieburger... More
After eating every pastrami sandwich, it only makes sense I'd develop another obsessive fixation... (Pictured: LaVui) #dallaseats #dallasfood #banhmi
I did it. I taste tested every single pastrami sandwich in Dallas and Fort Worth. Some were great, like this BBQ smoked pastrami from @smokeyjohnsbbq. Some were, uhhhhh, not so great. The D Magazine website now contains my reviews of all of em, good and bad. #dallaseats #dallasfood #sandwich
If you subscribe to our print edition, open it up and read our review of The Charlotte on Henderson Ave. If not, it'll be online next week. Know this: the calamari has fried zucchini and olives mixed in, and two dipping sauces. #dallaseats #dallasfood
Little Blue Bistro opened with no fanfare in a little old Bishop Arts house. It's a charming place with a big backyard, and the best foods are almost picnic-like. Take this rabbit terrine with focaccia toast slices, arugula, and mustard. Assemble your own happy place. Excited to return. Real review coming in the spring. #dallaseats #dallasfood... More
I liked Sanjh and wrote a positive review. But more and more Dallas chefs - like all your favorites - keep telling me how much they're digging this posh Indian destination in Irving, and how much we're underrating it. And top chefs are a lot harder to please than I am. Yes, the prices are high, but unlike a lot of other big-ticket places in town, you... More
The crudo at Mirador is immaculately balanced (in flavor and plating), and the lighting at this penthouse perch is spectacular, too. The set lunch - two courses and a to-go cookie for $30 - is a heck of a deal for a high-end meal if you work downtown. Sorry, didn't mean to rhyme. Really impressive reinvention of this restaurant since the pandemic. #dallaseats... More
Love the look, zucchini casserole, and minimalist ribs at Sammy's Bar-B-Q, which has been in Uptown since 1992 and has to be one of the most underrated spots in town. I bet they made everything green to make you feel better about an all-meat lunch. #dallaseats #dallasfood #bbq
