Recommended bowl: Kyushu tonkotsu

Originally opened in Akihabara in 1984, Kyushu Jangara now has seven shops in Tokyo. The specialty is a smooth pork soup of pure Hakata style tonkotsu, made from pork bones, chicken and vegetables. There are a few different options and multiple ways to customize, but the standard bowl with nothing extra is sufficient for most.
