Recommended bowl: Kyushu tonkotsu

Originally opened in Akihabara in 1984, Kyushu Jangara now has seven shops in Tokyo. The specialty is a smooth pork soup of pure Hakata style tonkotsu, made from pork bones, chicken and vegetables. There are a few different options and multiple ways to customize, but the standard bowl with nothing extra is sufficient for most. This shop is known as the originator of the phrase 'zenbu iri', meaning 'all toppings added'. For vegans, yes there is an option for you. Harajuku branch open since 1986.
