Giovanni ジョヴァンニ 2nd visit — the prosciutto nigiri and fritto was a great start like last time. Favorite this time was the Ise ebi with karasumi powder, olive oil and liver sauce; and the egg yolk karasumi soba (I just love karasumi). Wine pairing here is great value as it’s practically all you can drink. •

This place can be somewhat polarising for people, but the pasta is undeniably up there as some of the best pastas I have eaten. Ham and karasumi were damn good also.. But come on... that egg yolk is crazy....

Ginza Giovanni ジョヴァンニ 1st visit — original dishes, high quality ingredients, perfect combination of Italian and Japanese elements. Loved the 24 months aged prosciutto first served as nigiri and then on top of freshly fried torta fritta — the temperature of the torta brings out the umami of the prosciutto; and the saltiness of the prosciutto complements the sweetness of the torta.
