A few places have their own renditions of this first dish but somehow this place has gotten it essentially perfect. Add that magical mapo tofu, and I basically have the ideal breakfast + lunch combo 😄 dishes are quite authentic in flavour in general with the exception of just one or two, although the fukahire was a little bit too doughy for me (as it tends to be in jp), as chefs tend to starch it up to give it a nice coating.

Wasa わさ 1st visit — highly rated Japanese style Chinese cuisine, got all your must have dishes: mouthwatering chicken, dimplings, spring rolls, fukahire and mapo tofu, all well executed. Dumplings were juicy and tasty, white soup fukahire was thick and collagen loaded, mapo tofu with noodles was very satisfying. Good wine service and nice Shaoxing wine selection. •
