February 15, 2026 One of the truly great classic French kitchens in the world and one of our Top 5 all time favorite restaurants. Morning baking. Headed down to the MN Bars Bake Sale at @grazenorthloop in the North Loop. From noon to 2 p.m. (and lots of other fun from 2-4) you can pick up bars (pronounced buh-arzz in Minnesota-speak) from nearly 50 Twin Cities bakers, including yours truly. It's a benefit for the @thesaltcurefund, an extraordinary effort to aid the state's embattled restaurant industry. I love Marugame udon noodles, there made fresh every day and you can really tell. Their tempura is outstanding too.

The Light Bar & Dining is a multi-storey restaurant and bar located in a restored 1893 Victorian power station in Shoreditch. The food is really good, very simple but executed well. We started off with some padron peppers and a chicken skewer with house pickles, both were nice. For mains we had a feast, whole spatchcock poussin, a pretty good burger, Harissa-glazed celeriac, whipped ricotta, quince, chicory. But the star of the night was the Aurox beef steak, girolles, bordelaise sauce. And loads of side, classic caesar salad, Charred hispi cabbage, mustard & preserved lemon dressing. Grilled cos lettuce, chimichurri, pickled chilli. Unfortunately we didn't get desserts because the chef had gone home at 9.05pm but we were pretty full any way. The food was good, not the best in london but still worth a look, Especially if your in a group, more of a lively night out then a fine dinning experience. But we had a good night.

Curry Tonkotsu, Bone Daddies’ homemade 20-hour pork broth, curry seasoning, fried katsu chashu pork, pickled daikon, sweet cabbage, beansprouts and noodles.

Its a banger, deep delicious broth, crispy katsu pork and amazing noodles. With some sweet and spicy padron peppers and a frozen margarita, perfect lunch!!
