There is a stretch on Walnut St. That should be renamed Little Thailand! Four Thai restaurants & each one unique! @chatayeethai distinguishes itself from the other 3 by a couple of things-
When you walk in, it’s like entering a royal palace.
Every artifact tells a story of Thailand, & Chef Venus?
She’s serving flavors fit for a king. The Money Bags are a must, but that Khao Soi?
It blew my tastebuds away.
Philly, this is your sign to dine like royalty!

Two large buffet areas anchor the space, each one carefully sectioned: one side offering vibrant, fresh vegetables and noodles; the other loaded with grill-ready proteins and a freezer of sliced meats for the hot pot. Off to the side, a sauce station waits like a secret lab—complete with a variety of oils, pastes, and herbs, plus recipes for inspiration. Large glass-front refrigerators are stocked with an assortment of Asian teas, fruit juices, and familiar sodas.

I’ve been let down more than once by “Maryland style” promises—but not this time. I finally made it to @mainstreet_taphousenmb in North Myrtle Beach, and it felt like coming home.

The Crab Cake & Shrimp Salad basket hit every nostalgic note: creamy, jumbo lump crab with barely any filler, and shrimp salad that tasted like the kind I’d grab in @oceancitymaryland

I paired it with their Bloody Mary, which could be a meal on its own—loaded and flavorful; the jalapeño poppers were an amazing addition.

But more than the food, it was the warmth that stood out. The hospitality here is the real deal. You’re not just a customer—you’re welcomed like family (& if you’re a @ravens fan, you’re considered VIP).

The revamp of Drumlin in Shoreline by chef Zephyr Paquette is a welcome addition to dining options north of Seattle. It's a cozy, friendly cocktail den with great food. The spring menu is about to debut, but I hope the roasted carrots with maple yogurt, pomegranate molasses, and feta stick around. Ditto the beluga lentils with sausage, kale, and bacon, and the lemon pepper linguine with smoked salmon. Less

How it started... Warm foccacia draped in shaved butter and a Portland gin martini @drumlinshoreline. TGIF indeed. I failed to take pictures of the lamb albondigas and the pork chile verde, but you should not fail to order either one, if available.
