MUST-TRY
MoMos! I tried their veggie option and the flavors were so unique and delicious, especially the sauce that came on the side. Beware! The are spicy 🔥 and a bit oily.

WHAT WORKED ✅
They have great cooking techniques and use high quality ingredients. Their seasoning is spot on and they balance their flavors really well - for example, the Steak and Eggs dish was savory, with spots of sweetness, heat and tangy that kept me going back for more.

WHAT DIDN’T WORK ❌
The premise of flavors from the African diaspora sounds exciting, but the menu options are mostly basic (with a few twists). That doesn’t mean the food is bad, just that it wasn’t as unique as I thought it would be(at least for #brunch). The prices are not terrible. As general guidance - prices do reflect the amount of food that will be on your plate! And not all “handhelds” come with fries (which I think they should).

Overall I would recommend trying it, and to be adventurous with your choices! It pays off here.

The move? Ask them to reheat it in the panini press. Takes a minute, but so worth it… Also get there early because they sell out quick! They make another version with a biscuit that is incredible 🙌🏻

Turns out Bootleg IS Special after all! 🦀 This place is fun and unique, and like every restaurant, has some hits and some misses. What really stands out are their cooking skills - not a single bite was under or overcooked - and their huge portions for the price.
