Gen is a bit tricky to find, tucked away on a quiet little residential alleyway in the backstreets of Shimokitazawa. The master here trained for multiple years at the infamous Meguro branch of Ramen Jiro, a shop that has been drawing long lines for years. As is customary at Jiro, before each bowl is served here customers have the option of free add-ons such as chopped garlic, extra veggies and/or pork fat.
