Banquet for 20 with a customized menu chosen by me. First time at this restaurant which has a good reputation for serving arguably the best Cantonese fare in Taipei.
Maybe I didn't order the right dishes, but execution was definitely off on a couple of key dishes. They should have spent more time cooking some of the ingredients.

Canton food love runs deep.
Came here for fish maw soup dumplings and sautéed fish maw with clam, loofah and minced pork. It was a bonus to find these knockouts on the menu, deep fried sesame balls stuffed with bird’s nest and apricot kernel milk and fried boneless frog leg stuffed with julienned shiitake, jinhua ham and the most tender part of Chinese kale, a beautiful Shunde dish named after its presentation like a jade hairpin.

What did I do when a new restaurant in town gave an awfully lame excuse and cancelled a much anticipated reservation? Blacklisted those liars and followed vvvips to our trustworthy favorite and have dim sum( and more) for dinner! On point everytime, @silkshouse_taipei ❤️✨
