(SWIPE FOR MORE PICS) This week’s #littlemeg_chefskillvideos took place in Singapore at @kengengkee seafood restaurant, a very casual restaurant which offers a wide variety of chinese dishes from comfort food, Homecooking, and some more creative dishes. We visited here during #ICSA2019. In the video two chefs were preparing Claypot Pig’s Livers with ginger and shallots. All the ingredients were cooked and served in the same pot. Onions, shallots, garlic etc were first put in super piping hot oil in the pot and the chefs fiercely swirled them with long chopsticks. Then a bowl of pig’s liver and a bowl of secret sauce were poured in. And very quickly 🔥 lit up and rose high almost like flambé. We couldn’t see the anything other than fire until it died down and the pot covered with lid.

It was sent to our table quickly and to be eaten hot. I know the presentation was not gorgeous but this was the definition of #uglydelicious. Pig’s livers were caramelized on surface and all coated with bold and heavy flavoured sauce. This was exactly the kind of rustic Chinese food that people want at late night (like right now in Asia 😂) . Powerful and delicious, perfect after beer and with more beer 🤣

I really enjoyed my meal here and they had many great dishes. The owner and chef had so much heart. I will introduce more in the later part of my best 2019 Asia series
