I enjoyed delicious yakiniku in a calm, private room. The yukhoe was fantastic, featuring tender, flavorful red meat, and the grilled corn vegetables were incredibly tasty! The curry for the finale and the dessert pudding were also satisfying. It was a great meal!
I finally visited "Setsugekka Tanaka Satoru," a long-awaited experience. The interior exudes a calm luxury, providing a spacious environment to enjoy a leisurely meal. It’s easy to see why this place has received high ratings on Tabelog. We ordered a la carte:- Kimchi and Namul Assortment- Lean Yukhoe- Premium Salted Tongue- Outside Skirt and Hanging Tender- Lean Meat- Tail- Nagoya Cochin Egg Soup- Special Cold NoodlesFirst, the kimchi and namul were each seasoned with care, heightening my anticipation for the yakiniku. The lean yukhoe was incredibly fresh, and the rich egg yolk paired perfectly with it. The natural umami of the meat was prominent, making this dish worth the visit on its own.The premium salted tongue had a perfect thickness, balancing a crisp bite with juiciness. Each bite released a burst of flavor. The outside skirt and hanging tender were impressively tender, allowing me to savor the rich taste of the meat without relying on fat.The lean meat had a moist texture, showcasing the sweetness that comes from high-quality meat. It was a dish that remained delicious without any excessive greasiness. The tail was rich in flavor, becoming more profound with each bite. The Nagoya Cochin egg soup was gentle in taste yet rich in egg flavor, beautifully wrapping up the yakiniku experience. Finally, the special cold noodles featured perfectly chewy noodles and a refreshing broth, making it an ideal way to conclude the meal. While the price range is not cheap, considering the quality of the food, service, and ambiance, it is certainly justifiable. This is a renowned establishment that I confidently recommend for meals with loved ones, special occasions, or business entertaining.I definitely plan to revisit when I come back to Nagoya. Less

Indulge in a luxurious meat festival at Setsugekka! The exquisite tongue and artistic yukhoe, combined with meat that pairs perfectly with egg, kept my stomach in constant delight. Enjoying a drink in this stylish space was also fantastic, making it hard to put down my chopsticks! I truly experienced the strength of a hundred renowned restaurants—so delicious that both my stomach and heart were completely satisfied! It was a great meal!!!!

On this day, I visited Setsugekka Tanaka Satoru in Nagoya. It seems like the chain has expanded quite a bit in Tokyo and Nagoya, and it used to be quite famous years ago. I’ve been to the Setsugekka in Ginza, but this was my first time in Nagoya.Whenever I think of the name, I can’t help but recall the scene from Romancing SaGa 2 where I first saw "Raging Snow Moon Blossoms" as a child. Haha. I remember using it, thinking it was the ultimate technique, without knowing the conditions to unlock the "Mumyo Sword."But enough of that irrelevant story—let’s talk about the meal. The restaurant is divided into semi-private rooms, which gives it a different feel compared to typical yakiniku places, making it quite user-friendly. I can imagine celebrities would really appreciate this kind of setup. While the meat and dishes don’t have an explosive quality, they are consistently delicious, making it a reliable place to visit anytime. The style allows you to choose your closing dish, which made it fun to share. It was a great meal!Reservation method: Via Tabelog Course price: JPY 13,200 Duration: Just over 1.5 hours Reservation difficulty: Fairly easy to book Order: Highball and such Total bill: Just over JPY 15,000 Less
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I had the illusion of thinking, "Am I the boss today?" Haha. The atmosphere is truly S-rank. Both the staff and the ambiance exude luxury. Now, let's talk about the yukhoe. This dish is a winner. It’s at a level where I thought, "I’m so glad I came today!"However, towards the end, the outside skirt and ribeye were a bit too fatty, turning my mouth into a yakiniku festival. Haha.It was delicious, but at some point, my stomach started a meeting saying, "How about... More

Haha.It was delicious, but at some point, my stomach started a meeting saying, "How about a little break?"When I was younger, I could handle it all. But now in my 30s, it’s a serious battle with the fat. Haha.Overall, I give it 3 stars! I definitely want to come back for the yukhoe! Less

The way it’s grilled is truly important. The kimchi was too sour; maybe it’s more authentic? I thought I might have eaten something I shouldn’t have with my child-like palate.【Service】The atmosphere is luxurious, and the staff is skilled at grilling, but the service itself was just okay.○ I don’t mind encountering staff who seem to be in training, but when I’m spending JPY 25,000, it feels a bit different.○ When I mentioned I was traveling from Tokyo, saying "This restaurant has a branch in Tokyo too!" was a bit off.Even in a luxurious setting, I could hear the loud laughter of the hostesses from the next room. Is this what capitalism's luxury looks like?【Overall Evaluation】I think the quality of the meat is generally good, but coming to a place at this level has made me more certain of something I’ve always thought:"Is Matsusaka beef really that good? At least, it’s not to my taste?"Also, the grilling method is really important. What we grilled ourselves wasn’t tasty, but what the staff grilled was delicious. Since I’m paying, I’d prefer full service, but I was told there’s no such plan.If everything had been grilled by the staff, I would rate it around 3.7. My satisfaction relative to the price is lacking. It was a great meal! U・x・U Less
