The current menu @moonrise.xyz walks you thru a fine dining take on the regions greatest street food hits .
As many of the OG dishes are new to me , I wasn’t able to have that extra emotional connection with the dishes as someone who is local to the area would . Nonetheless, on flavour and creativity this menu is certainly a success .

The dish of the night was the opening bite , a pani puri with flavours which appeared on the palate and then proceeded to be replaced by continuous and harmonious flavour layers . It is an ingenious mouthful
FOIE GRAS PURI
Foie Gras & Saudi Date Ganache, Szechuan Chilli, Pineapple & Saffron Chutney
Local grouper was the vessel to showcase both dynamite sauce and fish fry masala . Crisp fish in creamy spicy emulsion .
HAMOUR DYNAMITE
Dry Aged UAE Wild Hamour, Dynamite Emulsion, Fish Fry Masala
Wild tuna from Cadiz with hot sauce and an interpretation of spicy Oman chips . Love the nori in sugar syrup served alongside and delivering great balance .
SPICY TUNA
Al Madraba Wild Cadiz Chutoro, Kimchi Hot-Sauce, Nori Crisp, Spiced Potato Furikake
Glass shrimp are a lovely texture and the tour-ranch hybrid steals the show
MARKET PRAWNS
Hyōgo Ama Ebi, Toum-Ranch, Solera Barrel-Aged Pedro Ximenez Vinegar (5-50 Years), Ponzu Veil, Dill
The moonrise take on local bread was another highlight , beautiful light dough lightly grilled and puffed with a salty sweet miso-date butter
MOONRISE KHUBZ ™
4-Year-Old Charcoal Khubz, Beurre De Barrate, Organic Nagano Brown Miso, Organic Saudi Dates
The most recognisable course for me , Queensland Wagyu served with shawarma sauce flavours . The Wagyu was somewhat overpowered .
JADE WAGYU “SHAWARMA”
Jade Wagyu MB 8-9, Mexici Sauce, Pickled Daikon
Loved the cheese course , Hokkaido milk bread topped with black garlic jam, two ages of Parmesan and WA truffles . Classic combination .
MOONRISE GRILLED CHEESE
Pre dessert featured Shizuoka Melon which always delivers , featuring sorbet , foam, and syrup this refreshed as intended.
Finally a poetic end with Karak and paratha - this dessert served in a dark restaurant with a roaring flame to evoke the desert is a great finale Less

This restaurant and menu is one of a kind - showcasing the cuisine and ingredients of the UAE in many different forms. It’s an intimate 15-seat counter tucked away on the rooftop of Eden House, where every dish tells a story and every ingredient feels considered.

Some of my favourites were the fattoush-inspired shima-aji ceviche with pomegranate molasses nam jim. Super creative and the perfect plate to showcase Solemann’s cooking. Also loved the red prawn tartare served with a toum-ranch (wild), and the Moonrise grilled cheese made with shokupan, Emirati bzar, Comté and black garlic (tweaked but just as amazing as last time). Both incredible bites and so carefully put together.
The food here is elegantly layered and beautifully presented, but it’s the ideas behind each dish that are even more impressive. There’s a real sense of place throughout the menu, with local influences woven into dishes in ways that feel natural rather than forced. This is creative cooking and dish development at its best.
To finish, the Strawberry Supernova with honey, matcha and white chocolate, served alongside warm madeleines. Everything you could want from a dessert and more.
