Welcome back to Chasing Stars, the series where I visit the world’s best restaurants.

Today, we’re at @thegleneagleshotel , Scotland’s best hotel, and its two-Michelin-star restaurant.
The vibe here is traditional—dim lighting, heavy decor, and an old-school fine dining ambiance. Elegant for some, stuffy and uninspired for others.
But let’s dive into the food.
And here’s the thing: It was good. Nothing was poorly cooked. But when you’re at a two-Michelin-star spot, you expect something more. A spark. A dish that stops you in your tracks. Instead, everything felt safe, predictable, and most importantly, bland. The flavors? None of them had that wow factor—nothing that made me remember the dish 10 minutes later.

Service was polite and professional, but even great service can’t make up for food that lacks soul.

So, is Andrew Fairlie worth its two stars? For me, it falls short. It might be Scotland’s best, but on the global Michelin scale, it doesn’t quite measure up. Would I recommend it? Not if you’re after culinary fireworks but maybe If you like safe, well-executed cooking in a traditional setting.
Everything looked better than it tasted. It’s safe cooking, not boundary-pushing, and while that might work for some, it’s not why I go to Michelin restaurants.

This might be the craziest lobster roll I’ve ever had and you won’t believe where I found it. 🦞😱

At $50, I was definitely skeptical, but when it arrived, I couldn’t stop staring. This thing was HUGE, over half a pound of lobster stuffed into a buttery brioche bun. 🥖 The mayo and scallions? Spot on. The fries? Yeah, they’re good, but we all know why we’re really here. 😜

This airport lobster roll completely shattered my expectations. One of the best meals I’ve had in an airport. 🙌

This is the world’s best smørrebrød, an absolute must when in Copenhagen! 🇩🇰✨
Welcome back to Copenhagen Casuals, where we’re at @montergade , serving up the finest Danish open-faced sandwiches. Trust me, it doesn’t get better than this.

We start with creamy chicken salad with bacon on toast, pure perfection, 10/10. Then, shrimp on toast with mayo, looks amazing, but taste-wise, it’s a bit mid. 7/10. Next, my all-time fave: lobster tartare, sweet lobster, genius onion mayo, and a fried poached egg. 10/10.

Roast beef with béarnaise and crispy onions, mouthwatering, 9/10.
Finally, the iconic fried plaice with shrimp and lemon mayo, can’t go wrong. 9/10.

While the food is top-tier, the atmosphere is corporate, dull, and lacking hygge. It’s where suits go to talk business, and if you overhear them, good luck staying awake. 😴

This caviar pasta is a must-visit in Munich! 🤯🍝🍋

Welcome back to Munich Munchies, tonight, we’re at @bartatar_schreiberei , the casual sibling of two-Michelin-starred @tohrunakamura , inside the historic die Schreiberei.

We started with pimped-up oysters:
🦪 Japanese crème fraîche & pine nuts, creamy, crunchy.
🍅 Bloody Mary: just like the drink.
🌿 Shiso, ginger & soy ponzu - zesty, citrusy and Japanese 🇯🇵

Then, @juliusbrantner sourdough with whipped butter & chive oil—good, but I’d take classic white bread.

Next, Rösti with beef tartare, crème fraîche & caviar—a nod to three-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️ @waldhotel_sonnora . But the real star? Lemon pasta with caviar. Perfectly al dente, buttery, velvety, and balanced. 10/10.

The biggest schnitzel I’ve ever seen… but is bigger always better? 👀

I am on the hunt for the best schnitzel in Munich and today’s search led me to @steinheil16 , known for serving massive schnitzels at a low price, but here’s the catch: no veal option. Just pork and (brace yourself) turkey 🦃

The pork schnitzel? Overcooked crust, way too thicc. The turkey? A slight improvement, but let’s be real, turkey and schnitzel go together like Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

Bottom line: If you want a giant schnitzel for cheap, this is your spot. But if you’re after a great schnitzel, I’d look elsewhere.

Munich’s fine dining scene is evolving, and @komu.restaurant a two-Michelin-starred restaurant from chef @christoph_kunz_ is turning heads. 👀

With his guiding philosophy, Corners. Edges. Round., every dish is a study in precision: from a dramatic caviar showdown of @altonakaviar and @n25caviar enjoyed with @champagnedeutz to a halibut perfected with cedro lemon and malt whiskey beurre blanc.

Golden, crispy, and floating in buttery bliss this is a technical masterclass by @ppfisterer and team. Crunchy yet airy. Greasy yet somehow not. A bite so perfect, I might need a moment alone.
