Kooriya Peace Tokyo

Kooriya Peace (氷屋ぴぃす) is a specialty kakigori shop where customers can enjoy shaved ice all year round. It’s a small cafe with just one long counter table and eight chairs. We discovered this place after watching the Netflix show “Kantaro the Sweet Tooth Salaryman”. 🍧

The menu lineup is full of unconventional flavors, so we tried two different types – flan with black jelly and lemon cream. The sauces and condensed milk are all handmade. The premium quality ice is free of impurities, gradually frozen for over 72 hours at the ice factory. According to Kantaro - ice that’s just removed from the freezer is pure white and -18 degrees. By warming it to between -1 and -5 degrees before shaving, gives it a gentle and mild feeling in the mouth. Both flavors of kakigori we tried were irresistibly good! 🐕
