For an early lunch before heading to the airport, I was fortunate to visit Casa de Saulo Onze Janelas. With a few units throughout the country and led by chef Saulo Jennings, Casa de Saulo is an institution when it comes to Amazonian food, and especially focused on the flavors of the Tapajós river.

The original restaurant is located in Santarém, and while I hope to visit it soon, the Belém unit was also incredible.

The restaurant is located in a historical building, but the cultural and architectural aspects of a visit here are not the only reasons to come. @casadosaulo serves fantastic food as well.

I was very happy to see on the menu a classic combination that I had not tried yet: duck and tucupi. The “arroz de pato no tucupi” was very well executed and the combination of flavors undoubtedly fit to perfection. Here the recipe also included crispy jambu leaves.

Overall, this was a great meal and the perfect ending to an unforgettable week in Belém.
