The menu at Tagamiya is simple. It’s just one bowl of ramen for 900 yen ($5.70 USD). You can add extra pork, extra noodles, or green onions, but that’s pretty much it.

They sell canned beer as well, which I guess makes sense if you just got off working third shift.

The bowl is pretty balanced in its ratio of soy sauce to tonkotsu soup. I’d like to see a bit more spinach, but was impressed at how freshly cooked it was (which you can tell in the photo.) For this ramen style, I always recommend... More

For this ramen style, I always recommend ordering extra nori. I just love the way dried seaweed soaks up that fatty, soupy goodness.

Recommended bowl: IEKEI Chashumen

Run by master Tagami-san, Tagamiya is one of the more acclaimed bowls of Yokohama IEKEI in Kanagawa. Rich, smooth tonkotsu shoyu soup with chicken oil. Noodles supplied by Sakai Seimen, with the permission of og IEKEI shop Yoshimuraya. The pork chashu is hang-smoked on a hook. Somewhat rare for IEKEI shops, which are very labor intensive (lots of heavy stirring of the slow-cooked pork bone soup), Tagami-san runs his shop solo. Open since 2014.
