I finally got to tick off dining with Nigiri Paris (Jad) off my bucket list, its a sushi-lover’s dream come true! ✅ @nigiri.paris

For those who don’t know, Jad is not just a sushi connoisseur; he’s practically a sushi wizard. He travels around the world to try sushi from every corner, he’s the real deal. So, sharing a table with him at L’Abysse in Paris was beyond amazing! 😮‍💨

Watching him effortlessly chat with the chefs in their mother tongue was incredibly impressive. I bombarded him with questions like a curious kid, but then again, being a sushi lover, I couldn’t help myself. We got to discuss our favourite Omakase experiences, savor the nigiris in front of us and practically spent the entire meal gossiping about sushi. A true fan girl moment. 🥹

Pavillion Ledoyen stands proudly as the home of an astounding 6 Michelin stars. Within its walls resides L’Abysse holding two of those stars. It all started with Chef Yannick Alléno’s @yannickalleno lifelong obsession with Japanese cuisine. Through the collaborative efforts of Alléno and Chef Yasunari Okazaki @labysseokazaki , a harmonious fusion of French and Japanese culinary traditions blossomed, reaching unprecedented heights of excellence, and forging a bridge between their culinary heritages.🙏🏽

Some real winners on my plate included the shiso leaf toro nigiri, cleverly wrapped into a temaki. The mackerel was a hit too, striking the perfect balance of freshness and flavor wrapped in fermented Konbu, offering a twist to the usual Nori. The starter with uni and crust was fresh and light, with a zesty pop from the crust that took the uni to the next level. The stroke of genius was the wasabi ice cream paired with kiwi granite, it might sound unconventional but trust me it worked so well.🤤

P.S. Chef Yasunari Okazaki will be coming to London at the end of the month to do a pop-up two day Omakase at Pavyllon London, located in the Four Seasons Park Lane. Go go go!🥰 @labysse_paris @pavyllon_london
