Recommended bowl: Old Tokyo links
This Tsukemen specialty shop was launched in 1978 by master Arai-san, who trained at the legendary Maruchou in Kami-Ikebukuro (since closed). This tsukemen here looks like Maruchō style, but the shop does not officially belong to the group. The shop serves old school, Tokyo-style shoyu soup made from about 10 different ingredients, including pork, chicken and various gyokai (sea ingredients). The focal point: the homemade, authentic tsukemen noodles. A historic shop for the area.
