Recommended bowl: 450 yen ramen

Open since 1958, this old-school Chinese style ramenya offers up simple bowls and other Shōwa era style rice dishes. Most customers opt for a side of cha-han (fried rice) or pork rice to go with a bowl of noodles. Simple and cheap, priced at just 450 yen for the standard ramen. Shoyu soup is made with a base of niboshi, and noodles are special ordered. Master Kobayashi-san started out working part time and eventually took over from the original founder, who is also his relative. Often packed with students from the nearby university.
