Ginza Ooishi, a renowned French restaurant in Ginza, is a place that has earned a Tabelog Silver rating. After visiting again after a while, I was once again struck by how remarkable its evolution has been. The quality of the dishes, the comfort of the space, the flow of the entire course, and Chef Ooishi's charm as an entertainer all stand out. This is not just a place to enjoy delicious food; it offers a unique French dining experience that makes the meal itself enjoyable. The meal began with butter tea, followed by a tartare of firefly squid and scallops, cauliflower cream with scallops, red shrimp, and consomme jelly. From the start, the combinations of ingredients were beautiful, rich yet light. The chawanmushi topped with a soft-boiled egg was served cappuccino-style with truffle and mushroom sauces. The aroma, temperature, and smoothness came together to create a memorable dish. The flow continued with marinated red shrimp and tiger shrimp, eight types of terrine, galantine, and pickles, making for an enjoyable experience. While it evokes the charm of classic French cuisine, it also showcases Chef Ooishi's playful spirit.Asparagus with shredded snow crab and aurora sauce, and American cherries with foie gras in a monaka shell were particularly interesting in terms of flavor combinations and textures, truly unique dishes. One standout was the abalone wrapped in pastry. Combined with caviar and liver sauce, it was rich and luxurious. The umami of the abalone, the aroma of the pastry, and the depth of the liver sauce created a satisfying dish. The combination of white asparagus with hollandaise sauce and truffle was also excellent. It had a strong seasonal feel and aroma, embodying classic deliciousness.A refreshing watermelon juice reset my palate before moving on to Matsusaka beef with garlic tempura. Despite being French, the natural incorporation of Japanese elements kept the meal engaging until the end.The sakura shrimp risotto and curry were also delicious. This ability to deliver satisfaction is what makes Ginza Ooishi special. For dessert, we enjoyed loquat and muscat jelly with sorbet, followed by sakura cheesecake and Yame tea ice cream. It was a vibrant and lingering finish to the meal.Having returned after a while, I felt that the food, space, and service have evolved even further than before.Chef Ooishi's brightness, live atmosphere, and ability to entertain, along with consistently delicious dishes, make this place truly special.Finding a French restaurant in Ginza that is this comfortable, enjoyable, and delicious is truly rare.A restaurant worthy of its Tabelog Silver rating. I will definitely visit again. It was a great meal!
