I participated in a collaboration event between Japanese cuisine Beppu Hirokado and Kitsuki Odatama.As of June 2026, Beppu Hirokado has a Tabelog rating of 4.41 (ranked 1st in Oita Prefecture).Kitsuki Odatama has a Tabelog rating of 3.76 (ranked 1st in the soba category in Oita Prefecture).The meal costs JPY 36,000, with an additional JPY 9,200 for the Japanese sake pairing.This unique style features soba in every dish, which is quite rare.The collaboration between the two chefs is simply outstanding!(They seem to collaborate every six months.)The detailed explanations about Oita's ingredients and the history of soba were very educational.You can enjoy various types of soba, including Sarashina, Zaru, Inaka, and unique variations.The unique variation included a blend of sansho pepper and sakura shrimp.The pairing offered nine different types, which was more than enough to enjoy.Next time, I want to experience the fish and vegetables at Hirokado alone.I will definitely come back!
