Foodle Reviews
Today, I enjoyed some mouthwatering dishes once again.Thank you as always. This time, it was a shame that I couldn't chat leisurely since there were other customers present, but the appetizer of tomato and edamame was simple yet delicious. All the dishes were tasty, but the standout items were the young sweetfish, the eel from Mikawa, and the exceptional hot pot made with a special 1-meter-long conger eel.
The manga artist Takao Yaguchi was a big fan of sweetfish. He even decorated the first and last volumes of "Tsurikichi Sanpei" with them. When I asked him about the best way to enjoy sweetfish during a New Year Party, he said, "The innards are the best part."This week, I had the pleasure of tasting young sweetfish at the renowned restaurant "Izumo" in Nagoya. The chef skillfully skewers the fish, cooking the flesh and innards together before grilling them. This technique allows you to savor the rich flavor and slight bitterness of the innards as soon as you bite into the head, while the flesh is perfectly hollowed out where the innards were, letting you fully enjoy the delicious meat. The sweetfish, known as "kaoyu" for its fragrant aroma, carries the fresh scent of early summer, reminiscent of watermelon and cucumber, which was a delight for all my senses. The chef, Shige (Shigeharu Otani), is not only talented at this restaurant but has also showcased his incredible culinary skills on international stages, including events at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Louis Vuitton, and the World Theater Festival in Germany. Everything he prepared was amazing! It was a great meal! Less

The young sweetfish and aged meat were incredibly delicious.
I was fortunate enough to be invited by a regular customer to visit this restaurant. The dishes, such as dried whitebait and kushikatsu, were meticulously prepared and seemed quite labor-intensive. The clam hot pot at the beginning was also incredibly delicious—it was truly shocking. The aged meat was outstanding as well. I hope to visit again with the help of a regular customer.
Everything was incredibly delicious. Each dish was prepared with great care, and it truly showed! The clams were exceptionally tasty. I highly recommend paying close attention to the explanation of each dish. The warm interactions with the owner were also lovely.Instagram: rierrr22 I have posted more there, so feel free to check it out!
