Heading further south as I recap the South Texas BBQ swing. Up next: breakfast tacos at @elsanchobbq in Mission.
The Milagroso (a thick slice of brisket, beans, tomato-laced papas a la Mexicana, bacon, fried egg, and lots of gooey cheese underneath) is a miraculously hefty concoction that needs a fork and knife to eat, while the Barbacoa con Todo (smoked barbacoa, queso fresco, avocado, and cilantro) is a more balanced and a much less messy package. Both are delicious.
