On a hot day in Kyoto, I craved something refreshing and decided to visit Gion Matayoshi. The counter at the restaurant had a calm atmosphere, allowing me to relax and enjoy my meal. From the beginning to the end of the course, the flavors were exquisite! The staff were all very pleasant, and I appreciated being able to chat with them a bit. The attention to detail in the dishes and the soy sauce was remarkable, and I left feeling completely satisfied!
I visited Gion Matayoshi.Every dish was truly delicious, and I was impressed by each plate. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and it was clear that each dish was crafted with great care and attention to detail.Mr. Matayoshi, who hails from Kyushu, has a wonderful personality, and his warm and kind hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. Both the food and the service left a lasting impression, making for a wonderful time. I definitely want to visit again!
I visited this restaurant the day after the Gion Festival, which coincided with my wife's birthday. The calm atmosphere, impeccable dishes, and seamless service made me feel that this place is truly special. Although the prices are not something I can afford casually, I would love to return for special occasions.
I was taken here to celebrate my birthday. I wondered if taking photos was allowed in such a place, but when I brought my full-size camera, the friendly staff encouraged me, saying it was a great opportunity for photos, making it easy to capture moments. I ended up quite full, but everything was so delicious that I managed to finish it all. The course was on the pricier side, but the Japanese sake was relatively affordable, and I got to try some unique varieties, making it a very reasonable restaurant.... More
