Nestled in the Museum of Islamic Art, IDAM by Alain Ducasse is one of Doha’s only Michelin Starred restaurants. Classical French cuisine with Arabian touches and local ingredients at the forefront. The restaurant itself, designed by Philippe Starck is beautiful. Ultra high ceilings and incredible views over Doha Bay. Each course was intricately plated and well thought out. My favourites were the confit beetroot with smoked jus, isigny cream and caviar and the smoked camel milk sorbet with Laban and citrus. I don’t usually love beets but this plate was lovely - sweet, soft and earthy beetroot with the most rich and flavoursome jus. The caviar and cream worked wonders here. The duck was also beautifully prepared - served with tiny agnolotti of confit duck and a glossy duck jus across the top. I thought they would have got 2 stars to be honest.. only a matter of time imo. If you’re visiting Doha, this spot is definitely worth a visit - insane value for this level of cooking, service and ingredients. Don’t skip tea and coffee after you eat.. #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️
