A diverse line up of mostly whites to go with the seafood dishes at @abysserestaurant. The 17 As Sortes by Rafael Palacios was clean, crisp and minerally, very impressive and unusual for a Spanish godello. Ganevat was smoky and powerful as always. Had a 14 Bruno Clair Vergy Blanc the day before which was surprisingly concentrated and complex with hint of oxidative notes, unfortunately this 11 was quite simple and thin. 12 Deiss Schoenenburg was rich, ripe and powerful. 99 Beaucastel was quite advanced. All 3 reds showed well.

Abysse 1st visit — seafood focused French restaurant, one of the best meals in a while. A lot of “peekaboo” dishes which was really fun. Favorite was the sweet onion, flounder and caviar dish, perfectly balanced flavor and texture. •
